Happy Valley Shanghai | Family Inverted Coaster | B&M Invert

Re: B&M Family Inverted Coaster for Happy Valley Shanghai

^That's pretty much what I was thinking/hinting, too.

I don't know it for sure, but it sure seems that way, no?

Re: B&M Family Inverted Coaster for Happy Valley Shanghai

I would put money on this being the reason. But if so, I think it's a silly move for Vekoma. Its already happened now and Happy Valley are likely be one of the few Chinese customers that will continue to buy their rides as most will go for the cheaper domestically designed version. Obviously I can understand them not selling HV any more new technology to pass on, but the damage is already done on their older designs.

Re: B&M Family Inverted Coaster for Happy Valley Shanghai

It wouldn't surprise me if this was true. Which indirectly led to this ride being built.

Whats pretty funny is Vekoma built Shenlin at Happy Valley in Shenzhen

Golden Horse built Flare Meteor at Fantaworld

Vekoma built a modified layout with extra helix at HV Beijing and Chengdu.

and then Golden Horse built the same at the next Fantaworld

There's a little overlap with opening since HV Beijing opened before the first Fantawild but its still fairly compelling. it would also explain why Golden Horse offer a B&M Superman Flying Coaster clone.

Anyway I digress we have got a little off topic :p
It will be interesting to see if this new design inspires a number of new B&M Family rides around the world.

Re: B&M Family Inverted Coaster for Happy Valley Shanghai

Pretty compelling...

So, now that this rumored ride is completely assembled, is it too late to move it to the construction board?
;)

I was actually thinking about this last night, with regards to no Vekomas at the newer Happy Valley parks. Is it possible that it's Vekoma who doesn't want to sell to them anymore, rather than the other way around?

Well I'm not gonna say that it's impossible, but I doubt it.

Vekoma is always gonna try and sell as much as they can. As Stefan Holtman said at IAAPA, you can never prevent this copying, you just have to keep developing new rides and stay on top of the game.

Re: B&M Family Inverted Coaster for Happy Valley Shanghai

I've made a NL Re(Pre)creation of that by using NL2 and Blueprint provided by Park

Aww that looks adorable. Thanks very much for sharing Garfield :D

Re: Happy Valley Shanghai | Family Inverted Coaster | B&M In

Adorable! I hope they take care of it well. Its just a baby. Hopefully he'll grow up to be just like father Banshee. :p

Re: Happy Valley Shanghai | Family Inverted Coaster | B&M In

I do love seeing "Family" sized versions of Big Thrill coaster types.

I'm still awaiting the "Family" B&M Wingrider. I doubt one would ever be built though.

Looks great without the vest!

Re: Happy Valley Shanghai | Family Inverted Coaster | B&M In

This is only the second train that B&M has done, isn't it? The other being SD2K's new ones

Re: Happy Valley Shanghai | Family Inverted Coaster | B&M In

^Are you talking about the B&M trains that are two seats per row? Can't think of any others besides Steel Dragon.

Re: Happy Valley Shanghai | Family Inverted Coaster | B&M In

They did the trains for the Sucklone at SFMM.

Re: Happy Valley Shanghai | Family Inverted Coaster | B&M In

That is so precious and adorable.
The look of the restraints without the vests is amazing, it's essentially just a lap bar similar to skyrush and blue fire.
This will definitely make the young ones happy!

THANK YOU!!! For some reason I thought they did the trains that ran backwards on Colossus and was spending countless seconds trying to find that info.

I had the wrong woody at MM.

Re: Happy Valley Shanghai | Family Inverted Coaster | B&M In

Actually, I think they went from Psyclone to the reverse side of Colossus.

Re: Happy Valley Shanghai | Family Inverted Coaster | B&M In

Capacity will be another reason they went with the B&M i guess? I'm pretty sure the 2 Vekoma installs so far only run with a single train.

Re: Happy Valley Shanghai | Family Inverted Coaster | B&M In

^ Happy Valley couldn't give a flying **** about capacity. You'll be very lucky to ever see a second train doing anything other than sitting on the transfer track.

Re: Happy Valley Shanghai | Family Inverted Coaster | B&M In

Ha... (partly) wrong... it doesn't have a transfer track... :p

But yes you are right about HV and their stupid ops.

Still a selling point over the Vekoma version.
