Hansa Park has announced that their Super Splash ride (a guest favorite) will be undergoing major construction throughout the year to add a theme to the ride. The ride itself is not scheduled to be closed at any time due to the construction.
Construction will begin with a fake rock cliff around the end brake run area. The end result after construction will have the boats drop through a 'historic' shipwreck into the sea. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2013.

The park is also adding a jungle kiddie playground for all those under 1.4 meters called Tahiti–Trail. It's themed around the travels of Georg Forster, the German ethnologist who at an early age accompanied his father on several scientific expeditions, including James Cook's second voyage to the Pacific.

An indoor themed kiddie play area will also open this summer called Das Reich der Trolle (Empire of the Trolls) in the HANSE in EUROPA section of the park. The theme will be set around the Norwegian stories & myths of the little mountain dwellers.

Also for the kids is the new driving simulators in the play area surrounding the Pirate Ship. The simulators will have large monitors, steering wheels & a set of four pedals to accommodate kids of various sizes. The "tremendously fast & exciting" race course will last 90 seconds.

My favorite addition for 2012 is the new HD webcam that can be viewed from the park website homepage that will not only let you know what the weather is like at the park, but also just how busy it is at any time on any given day.

Apparently, Montezuma and Sturmvogel are being removed from Hansa park this winter. Sturmvogel is being replaced with a water balloon thing, and Montezuma is making way to for something big in the future.

And they are getting a new 4D film for 2013.

Strange that they're removing Montezuma since there's nothing there other than the Star Flyer & the bouncy pad things that we've liked so much during the Live. There's really plenty of room there for just about anything without removing the drop tower.

Sorry to bump this.

Have found a fairly recent article giving a bit of information about the 2014 project.
It's basically saying that it's going to be a coaster which is unique in the world and it's why they are removing Montezuma.

Hansapark plans major new project

With a roller coaster that will be unique in the world, wants the Sierksdorfer amusement park position in the world rankings.

Sierksdorf - The Hansapark Sierksdorf working on his next big attraction. Park's managing director Andreas Leicht confirmed the LN "ongoing plans for a ride that will stand at present, the world to be unique." Details called the Park boss still not with reference to the early state of planning. It would be, but a roller coaster that will be like with the "Curse of Novgorod" thematically embedded in the European Hanseatic. After all the passengers should not only thrills are offered. "We want to tell a story from the Hanseatic period," announces light.
Thus, the similarities stopped with the award-winning roller coaster "Curse of Novgorod" but be careful. "Our new attraction is not a copy, but something entirely new," says Light. The construction will begin, however, until 2014, there should be solved by the static up to the fire, many challenges.

To make room for the new railway, next year is the 45 meter high drop tower "Monte Zuma" degraded. The dismantling was done, however explicitly to do with the breakdown in the summer. As the LN reported was the gondola got stuck in the tower height of eight meters, so that the passengers are freed with a lifting platform had. "We build the Monte Zuma off 'because we needed the space for the new attraction," says Light. Because at this point of the park there are no height restrictions in the development plan. It is therefore to be assumed that it will go up with the new track.

Soft also the carousel "Petrel" is. Due to continuous delivery problem with spare parts could the target availability of at least 98 percent of the park opening times no longer be guaranteed. Whether both rides are sold or is still open, according to light.

For the future will not be easy to set a maximum number of rides and activities. The aim is instead to offer the most qualitative experience. Hence the way of leisure theme park will pursued. Instead of arbitrarily thrown together attractions should be the subject of European Hanseatic like a thread through the park. "This is now the expectation of ever more demanding visitors," says the CEO. With the unique selling point "Hanse" wanted the world Hansapark also play in the top league of the theme parks.

Will in the coming year, therefore the park entrance with expanded building replicas of the great Hanseatic cities further announces Andreas Leicht. Apart from the extension of the Lübeck Town Hall in the 2013 season would be added also Hansebauten from Bremen, Copenhagen and Goslar.

The park has yet to 21 - with the previous season just ended Opened October - is lightweight with satisfaction. While day visitors would be deterred by the rainy weather. Thanks to regular guests of the park lies but in the black. About 1.3 million visitors Hansapark Sierksdorf counts per year.

Sounds interesting, one thing I did find about Hansa was the real gap in quality between the newer attractions (Fluch and Schlange) and near enough everything else...

The Mexican area was pretty poor when you went to the StarFlyer/Drop Tower/etc, so hopefully if the new coaster is going there, it'll make the area a lot more complete, rather than a well themed street and Storm Surge/Bell ride with a field in the middle...

What about the retheming of existing attractions though Hansa?

Sorry for bumping this but I want to weigh in on the news (and hey, it's my first post! :P )

I can sort of see why they're removing the drop tower outside of needing space (?). I've been to Hansa Park once a year since 2006 (with 2009 being the exception) and Montezuma seemed to barely operate every time I've been. More often than not I've seen it standing still with an empty queue and mechanics trying to get it back up running, and even when it does get running not many guests line up for it. Either my presence causes the ride to break apart or the park got sick of having to fix the ride all the time when it doesn't even bring in crowds anymore. It's especially bad since it's located very closely to some of the park's most popular attractions outside of Fluch. Here's hoping they make the best of the new coaster they seem to have in plans and/or they install a more modern and reliable drop tower.
