It's going to recieve new trains and an inversion. No clue yet as to what it be though.

Even though I've never ridden it, I'm quite disappointed by this news. Hades has been a coaster that I've wanted to ride for many years now, and I think it looks amazing. But these new trains look ugly as ****, and just sticking an inversion on it for sake of it is kinda pointless really.

A bit poetic that as SoB gets torn down we have a rush of wooden inversions for next year. We'll see how this pans out for Hades and the new trains.

If it is a hit, it will be intriguing to see if other wooden coasters follow suit and modify their layouts. Wooden coasters after all require replacement of track as apart of regular maintenance, creating an easier opportunity to add new features vs. steel coasters.

DNA.....everywhere from this news.

I wonder how the timberliners will ride the inversion. Looks like GG stepped up their game, as well as GCI.

Next year is def gonna be fab <3

Yay for wooden inverters! Who will refurb the ride? Gravity Group?
Yes, Gravity Group made the announcement.

^ When GG announced the Timberliners way back when, they made mention that due to tje "steering" ability of the wheels, they were made with inversions in mind.

Don't know exactly where is the inversion going to go. :?
I imagine it will replace the small hill at 1:58 in the video, but will the coaster still have enough speed to make it back up into the station after going through the inversion?

I would assume they're going to redesign part of the layout.

EDIT: My best guess would be the hill at 1:23 in ECG's video. If you look at the video Ian posted you can see for a split second the first drop across the parking lot at 0:35.

Yeah, I imagined it at the 1:23 hill too. I think this is a nice addition though. I already wanted to ride this coaster but now I want to even more. It may be somewhat gimmicky but as others have stated, might as well modify the design if they are going to be retracking it. From what we've seen, it looks like this will stay wooden which is great as well.

And Hyde, I love the poetry as well. Wouldn't it be ironic if KI put in a coaster like Outlaw Run in the spot where SoB used to be?

I'll jump on the 1:23 train. The train seems to lose enough speed in the hill that it would make for a comfortable inversion. I'd imagine GG will not only replace the hill, wherever it is, but potentially the turns and what not as well so that the inversion is able to integrate with the layout.

If KI were to put in another inverting wooden coaster, it wouldn't be the first time KI saw a short-lived prototype to only build another type later. (Arrow Suspended Coaster - Bat, followed by Top Gun)

And, in my opinion, Top Gun (or Flight Deck) is still an entertaining coaster. So I can only hope they actually do it again with an inverting woodie.

As for Hades, I hope they don't change too much of the ride since I think it looks great as it is, but in terms of that particular section, I think it is a good idea to change the turns to benefit the inversion.

^ I'm with you. Top Gun is one of the most underrated roller coasters out there!

But yes, back to Hades. There isn't any indication of revisions outside of the added inversion and maybe a changed turn or two. We'll still have that rocking 90 degree turn!

They added in another 90-91° bank (it looks slightly beyond 90 in the video, but it is too quick to really tell.

Only reason I think it is beyond is that the train in the animation looks to tilt further than 90.

It's a fleeting glimpse, but that new turn does look to be 90 degrees. So that gives Hades two 90 degree turns total.

Here is a video that Coaster Crew has posted of their IAAPA coverage. It is an interview with Nick Laskaris, in which he talks about what exactly is going to be done to the ride.
