The rumors are starting to surface that Goliath at Six Flags New England will get that new Premier Rides train for 2013. This train will have 4-across seating, exactly like that on B&M inverts to increase rider capacity & make the lines in the station less complicated to navigate. The coaster was supposed to open with this train this year, but that never happened (obviously) for unknown reasons.
Just wondering if anyone has found anything to confirm these rumors.

Ben is right. Simpler loading & unloading increases rider capacity throughout the day.

Surely because now each set of 4 takes up less space and is less heavy (maybe), they can add an extra row at the end and keep the same weight?

I don't think a GIB can afford the same weight it carries now.

Those new trains look nice, but they have one factor that makes me very, very angry- no elbow room.
Damn I hate that.

SFNEOnline said via Twitter that AJ of Theme Park Review got a quick peek at the Premier trains for Goliath and that they definitely look ready for use in 2013.

I don't know how true it is but since AJ's Engineering group at Penn State is sponsored by Premier I think he definitely gets a few sneak peeks at some things. Either way I'm nabbing this cred next year, Premier trains or not.

As long as they get rid of the stupid lap seat belt, capacity will be increased, for sure. One thing that always made riders confused was not only figure out where they were supposed to sit but also how to strap themselves...

This, pretty much.

Although I think the worst culprits for this are actually B&M trains, especially Inverts and Floorlesses/Sit Downs.

They're obviously a million times better than the trash can trains they currently use on GIBs though!

According to park employees, the new train is on-site. :--D

Big-time bump!

It's finally running with the new train! :--D
