Girl bitten at Seaworld Orlando.

My thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family at this difficult time.
I wanted to post this first but now I feel that my sincere thoughts and prayers will seem secondary, almost like I don't really mean it.

Hurrah! The person filming it continued to film the incident immediately after it happened instead of filming the floor or sky.

If the dolphin is put down, my thoughts and prayers will be with the dolphin's family at that difficult time.

Lol I just hope that the girl somehow makes a full recovery, and that if she does I hope she is not scarred for life.

Im loving the fact that the news over here is saying the kid is at fault.

Ha! Stupid americans!

....wait....

This is ridiculous!

Everyone knows that there are risks involved with interacting with any animals, no matter what size. Some people seem to forget that they're not robots.........

Besides, dolphins have pretty small teeth, which are just used for grabbing fish, not ripping flesh. A dolphin bite is less dangerous than a dog bite!

So much pointless drama for a bit of fame/money!

Is Ian serious? It's not really something that can be avoided other than by following the rules. Unfortunately half of Americans aren't able to piece together a coherent thought, much less follow the simple directions of "DON'T HOLD THE TRAY."

^LOL - Pedant!

What about the poor dolphin? It was expecting a delicious fish and got a gob full of yank!

I don't want to be whaleist here, but they all look the same to me. I couldn't tell you which one committed the crime if you put them in a line up.

Pod, not family.
Sorry for not knowing about dolphins.

I suppose a group of dolphins can't be classed as a family because they're seperated shortly after birth by tuna fishing nets.

I wonder how much TRAUMA the girl has suffered and I hope it will be adequately reflected in any damages won by her family.

All live animal experiences should now be closed whilst a full health and safety inquiry is carried out. Any animals found quilty of attacking humans should be strug up. And I'll pull the lever.

They're dolphins, not bloody vampires (though they do sparkle in the daylight :P )

^ Have you ever seen a dolphin checking their reflection in a mirror?

Actually, dolphins are one of the few mammals who are self aware and can recognise themselves in a reflection or on TV and don't just see a "rival". So yes, they do :P

Wow, I'm learning so much about dolphins from this topic.

If this tragic incident never happened, my dolphin ignornace would be sky high. If anything, this dolphin should be given an award for raising dolphin awareness. Although I wouldn't want to be the person presenting it with the award in case it bites my arm off, too!

You leave the award on the wall and it will collect it later; NEVER hand a dolphin an award

Wuss - it's just a little peck of appreciation!

Pfft, did you see the way it hungrily lunged at her and knock the fish out of her hand in an attempt to gnaw her arm clean off? We're definitely dealing with some kind of undead, flesh hungry beasts here. These be no ordinary dolphins.

This is amazing <3.

You can tell how much her parents are SMELLING the compo though...

Once these bloodthirsty demons evolve the ability to traverse land, we as a species are toast!
