German Eggs & Easter Creds 2015

^ I guess to many riders have yelled "Die!" while riding it. ;)

Jordanovicy said:
I'd heard that there was more than one Wilde Maus XXL on the travelling circuit, I'd obviously ridden one at Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland a couple of years back but we decided to ride anyway, just in case...plus it was only €4.

There is just one, although I've heard that some Dutch showman is openning a Reverchon Spinner XXL for the coming season.

Re: German Eggs & Easter Creds 2015

Yeah there's only one XXL Wildmouse and it's owned by Buwalda. They are commissioning an XL spinner but it's been under construction for like a year I think. I really hope that happens - it sounds insane!

I quite liked Die! Wilde Maus when we went last year, definitely preferred it to the Zierer.
Regarding Colossos, I liked the helix, even if slightly rough, made me remember I was on a woodie and they aren't always glass smooth, plus the chuga-chuga sound as it's going through that section is pure win.
Did you go on Scream?

I found the roughness on Colossos different than the type found on traditional wooden coasters. It's got more jolts and is a little jarring. Personally, I find it more uncomfortable than the type found on traditional rough woodies, although some parts of Colossos are glass smooth. If it wasn't for that, the ride would be quite a bit higher up in my estimation.

No :/ it was closed when we went, it said closed until the summer and they had had some pretty violent storms a couple of days before we arrived so that didn't help.

DelPiero said:
you'll have to go back I guess :)

Colossos is reason enough to go back for me, plus I'd actually like to spend some time in Hamburg and see what's there...but a B&M might be needed to entice me properly ;)

This shouldn't take long...

Sunday 5th April: Day Three, Potts Park and Zoo Safaripark

I woke up feeling I'd had no where near enough sleep given that I didn't crawl into bed until gone 1. We went for a quick breakfast before checking out and getting to the car park. The weather somewhat surprised us.

11009217_10205601755917610_2511069269664604616_n.jpg

As I was the youngest and clearly the best I scraped the car. I was dressed appropriately for said occasion.

11128849_10205601755837608_3547213387567842945_n.jpg

Stone Cold used his melting powers too.

11136631_10205601757517650_5065745898730481444_n.jpg

But before long we were on the road and making our way to Potts Park, around an hour away.

11096380_10205601757117640_1941473541700789537_n.jpg

All we knew was that it's home to two creds, we were pleasantly surprised by the rest of the place. We stumbled across the Velodrome so went in there first.

11133829_10205601762797782_6790552573648530656_n.jpg

It's basically a museum of bikes. Each little display has something you can do. At the back were 4 bikes with each powered a much smaller bike on a race track. Cue a race between Stone Cold, Nealbie, Sue and myself. I forget who won, and for this reason it wasn't me.

11133894_10205601763837808_7937322633825165198_n.jpg

This one powered a TV.

11102812_10205601765757856_8636704366352543532_n.jpg

You had to pedal with quite some speed to get it to turn on.

It was all quite good fun, enjoyable for 10 minutes anyway.

Outside was this. I'd never seen one before and thought it was great. Apparently the 'water' bit holding it up is usually green though on other versions so this worked particularly well.

11129328_10205601767157891_4333192201766339306_n.jpg

Next was Up'n Pot....a toilet attraction I **** you not.

11081243_10205601767237893_5053820618805014352_n.jpg

There were around 5 cubicles inside each with some different property.

11113063_10205601768157916_1448232810768263601_n.jpg

It was really rather random to be honest...no one was expecting it, that's for sure!

Next we rode the slide. We all linked arms and slid together. It was very romantic...

One thing I loved about this park was the rock displays <3

19510_10205601771117990_7139648176329919186_n.jpg

There were several around the park each with a little tag saying what they were. There was also a mine cart near the Nautic Jets explaining what the underlying geology of Potts Park was <3

We headed to the Wasserspielgarten next (water play garden), an area perfect for CFers.

11150557_10205601771197992_7182735330754050793_n.jpg

Wet vadge.

1907646_10205601773518050_7390713334391864724_n.jpg

Richard is good at pumping.

11148614_10205601772238018_5233588940029710309_n.jpg

Owain and Nealbie are swingers.

The whole area had various things to play with that involved water, pumps, twisty things, splashy things, it was really great fun!

In a way the place teaches you about the physics of water.

11150315_10205601774358071_7325587594950404921_n.jpg

But by now we needed creds in our life so we headed over to Potts Blitz.

10174963_10205601775918110_4152183086301481429_n.jpg

It's just your everyday Zierer, nothing exceptional but good fun for what they are, I do quite like these to be honest, but mainly I was happy for the +1.

Once plus one and doned (lovely grammar) we rode this.

11147028_10205601777998162_7629903023221758713_n.jpg

It's basically an electronic play park carousel, once you're all on you pressed the button and you spin!

11041651_10205601777318145_3611209726822102926_n.jpg

We saw the slides and couldn't resist. They were still wet from the dew of the night before though which meant they weren't very slippery.

1507785_10205601779478199_7572840516901315676_n.jpg

And all those stairs up to the top :/ such a work out!

They had some porn pony style things next door in the shape of pigs, Swins Galopp, we just had to give them a go.

11150164_10205601783398297_6009315036977012496_n.jpg

They were difficult to control, I've never ridden the pony equivalent so don't know if you have to do the same action but they were so hard to move, you had to move your whole body and going backwards was even harder.

17293_10205601782518275_7603084788174351382_n.jpg

We had a race and gave up. Too much like hard work.

We headed into a building called Terra Phänomenalis. (Phenomenal World)

11111211_10205601785918360_1534186086133192186_n.jpg

Nealbie had gone in a couple of minutes before us and noticed a rather spectacular room so ran out to us, lined us up, told us to close our eyes and guided us into it. Suddenly it all went echoey, we opened our eyes and wow.

So many mirrors! Crystal Maze references were made. For those of you who don't know what the Crystal Maze is, it was a British game show back in the early 90s. If you're interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Crystal_Maze

It was great to take photos in here.

It was great fun, all physicsey and educational too, really enjoyable, a great attraction.

We rode a dark ride in the light next...themed to zoomorphic pigs.

Time and effort had clearly been put into this attraction, but my gosh was it extremely weird...and random, some of them moved...it was also slightly terrifying.

It was cred o'clock once again. Turbo Drachen, a bat flyer sort of thing, I'd never ridden one and was looking forward to it. You could control your speed, I didn't brake once.

11150244_10205601817199142_1813129451506493541_n.jpg

They were great fun! The way you swung around the corners, I loved it. I had to reride, such fun! Have an ORP.

11040632_10205609688155911_4180564677304245896_n.jpg

Next we stumbled across some Nautic Jets. Neither Sue or I had ever ridden them before so had to give them a go.

They're so much fun! **** terrifying too! You feel like you fly so high in the air before crashing down, making a huge splash in the pool. Loved them. We rode them about three times. Peep filmed a video, I'll post it here because it makes sense.

I made a dignified exit...

11149275_10155488886875360_4586364620846535203_n.jpg

Next we rode Wasserläufer, a Wave Rider. I've only ever ridden one at Legoland parks. I don't remember getting as wet! The water got really violent and the floor had holes in it, the water was surging up through, as you steer and crash into the waves they pour over the top. It's great fun.

10439401_10205601831199492_7236289037498471729_n.jpg

10609436_10155488890820360_8125970463978651360_n.jpg

Adjacent to Wasserläufer was an area of some very peculiar rides, unlike anything I'd seen before. There was Rondo, up to two people sit inside and as it goes round a circular track you can choose whether to spin the ride upside down forward or back, it's great but VERY nauseating.

11115749_10205601833199542_2624949166779763594_n.jpg

There's also Potzi Mobil which is like a caravan on a stick. You choose how high you swing it, if it gets too high it cuts out and you stop.

1508112_10205601834239568_3401710054126812867_n.jpg

It was a very peculiar area, I enjoyed Rondo though, I loved how both of the attractions were self-operated.

We decided we should leave Potts Park and get to Zoo Safaripark. On the way out I went into some shed attraction purely for the LoG points. I have no idea what it was called or the idea of it...

13384_10205601847039888_6081637663077169673_n.jpg

Looking at my pictures I can only assume it's something to do with the typical German household? I really don't know, it's odd whatever it is.

So we visited the tat 'shop', (not so much a shop as a counter) and headed out to the cars.

Potts Park was fantastic! I really really enjoyed the park, as did everyone else. It's unlike any park I've ever been to, to be honest. So much to see and do. I really liked the educational areas and the areas to just run around and much about. Such a fantastic park for CFers, a great great park.

Onwards to Zoo Safaripark!

Given the huuuuge safari yesterday nobody could be bothered to see yet more **** animals, so we went straight to the car park and made a bee-line for the creds. First up, Flying Tiger...a Vekoma Corkscrew...yay. I say that, it was my first every corkscrew so I was looking forward to it for that reason.

It was alright...I was surprised how comfortable it was actually. The seats and the restraints weren't but I actually quite enjoyed the coaster as a whole. The boomerang bit was rough but not unpleasant.

Before trying anything else we made a bee-line for the other cred, Marienkäferbahn, i.e. Ladybird Coaster.

It was ok, nice pace, I like how it whizzes around close to the ground but nothing more than a +1 realistically.

It was time to experience some more attractions in the park.

11146650_10205601855640103_5730587440892118915_n.jpg

First up, Giraffe Tower!

10931341_10205601856840133_5385993068692128195_n.jpg

Up the top it feels quite high, you can see a lot of green trees which make a good view. And whooooooooosh down. Ahh it really packs a punch, not Det levels but still pretty darn good. We had a reride later in the day...and I'm not usually a fan of these!

Next, lunch. I had my first currywurst (which was awful), some uncooked chips and a dry bread roll. Not the best meal of my life.

10325583_10205601857320145_1479410692549763751_n.jpg

Also had a drink called Mezzo Mix, apparently a coke and fanta mix, it was awful. Clearly two rights do make a wrong.

10995473_10205601857360146_1072219637112801587_n.jpg

Ugh, I look like Friar Tuck.

After lunch we rode a slide...

20987_10155488897155360_5060305768056459768_n.jpg

And an inflatable dingy boat ride. It sported vile water and, I **** you not, 10 minute long lift hills...the ride took around 20 minutes. My god it went on ages.

11053455_10155488898245360_2668374160630997711_n.jpg

We headed over to the other side of the park. Yay animals.

10500422_10205601859000187_7179767945812106825_n.jpg

Either that or a rug.

There was a train that went in a monkey enclosure.

11017223_10205601860080214_8606905359314347551_n.jpg

But the real reason we had come over here...the high ropes course over the leopard enclosure!

11102613_10205601861560251_5673162326066348306_n.jpg

Stone Cold, Sue and I gave it ago. I went first. I'd done one of these before, on a scout camp 6 years ago, I remember being terrified on it but I actually did pretty well.

10428712_10205601868360421_3120813695815023941_n.jpg

We decided enough was enough and headed for the exit after we'd finished. I rode Black Fly before leaving, my second Black Fly attraction on consecutive Sunday's....I am SOOO cool!

10431532_10205601869880459_4016444317593323120_n.jpg

I quite liked the park, we didn't do the safari but the park had a nice ride selection with a couple of creds, some fun flat rides, a couple of water rides, I particularly enjoyed the dinghy flume thing, a really nice park. It did feel a little run down though, in need of some TLC really. The animal enclosures inside the park were a nice touch, you can see some animals without doing the safari.

We made our way to Dormund once we left to find our hotel. The hotel had quite an impressive reception area.

Such beautiful decadent marble. Here we met up with nadroJ and Conor who had been doing their own trip up until now. We decided to go and find some dinner. We went to Pfefferkorn which was next door. When reviewing the place on TripAdvisor later on, it turned out that the restaurant was the number one rated in Dortmund and it was lovely. I had a delicious steak...as did most others.

11109448_10205601870440473_6078643656494967776_n.jpg

On the way into Dortmund I'd seen a sign for an Easter fair...that could only mean one thing surely...creds! We asked at the hotel reception where it was, only a couple stops on the underground so we headed over to the nearest station, Kampstraße. I've only been on the London Underground before so was happy for another Underground cred!

On the walk over to the station we found a huge see-saw. Queue CF bants. Stone Cold, Owain, Nealbie and Vadge on one end, nadroJ, Conor and me on the other. I struggled to get on and dived over it, disaster struck. I jumped too high and I was rising as the combined weight of those 4 was more than us 3, I went diving, head first to the ground, I landed hard, and crashed on my arse. **** me did it hurt. Peep was most amused. Moving on.

At Kampstraße there was some confusion about what we needed to do but we eventually arrived at the fair.

We scouted around for creds but there was only the one, Spinning Coaster which we passed on the way in. We weren't sure whether we'd ridden it before at Winter Wonderland but Stone Cold, Sue and I rode it anyway.

10613000_10205601883320795_7060630241069450102_n.jpg

Turns out hat I had got the cred at Winter Wonderland in 2013 but I'm glad I rode it just in case. It was good fun, pretty spinny but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We headed back to the station. I took a stunning photo of the Moon through the cred.

21171_10205601884360821_8197324617951464611_n.jpg

But back at the hotel we went straight to bed.

Thank you very much for reading once again. It wasn't as short as I expected.

Sorry Peep, I've used a fair few of your photos here, but I don't have a great amount of photos of me.

Day four at Movie Park Germany up soon!

You still haven't ridden a Vekoma Corkscrew; that's a Vekoma Whirlwind.

What's even more misleading is that that's not a f**ing leopard; it's a cheetah.

I didn't know Potts Park has basically the whole catalagoue of rides from Sunkid Heege (apart from the Butterfly). It surely looks like a fun park. :D

Looks like you had a blast in Germany! Did you check the amazing Huss Booster on the Hamburger DOM?

For anyone trying to get on Olympia Looping this year it will only do two stops: First is Rheinweise - The Biggest Funfair At The Rhine - in mid-July and the Second is of course Oktoberfest end of September.

Showmen Barth started some rumors last year as he complained of the high operational coasts of OL. Some assume that in upcoming years the coaster will be parked at Skyline Park near Munich for the year and only be moved to appear on Oktoberfest. Skyline Park tried to buy Thriller which did not turn out as the Mexicans had "lost" the original TÜV and operation manuals and to re-certify the coaster with TÜV seemd to be too expensive - so OL would fit into that sport nicely.

^ That actually sounds rather good. I mean, there were rumours of OL being sold to China, which would be rather crap, at least fromt an European's point of view. It being in Skyline Park actually sounds quite awesome, to be honest.

A bit of sad news regarding Thriller, though. Apparently it hasn't operated for some time and has recently been sold for scrap... Damn those Mexicans... :/

I rode Thriller on the Hamburger DOM operated by showman Bruch - and still miss it deeply. The Gs between first and second loop were insane but also the overall pacing made it such a great coaster. And this was before Six Flags "modified" i.e. "ruined" it.

You still haven't ridden a Vekoma Corkscrew; that's a Vekoma Whirlwind.

Yeah, fair enough. I knew the layout wasn't the same as an actual corkscrew layout, I just mean the corkscrew element on a Vekoma.

I forget, I was sure it was over a leopard enclosure, clearly not :p

Glad you enjoyed my report.

We certainly did! We saw it but didn't ride it.

Yeah, I'd heard rumours that this was Olympia Looping's last season, I'm glad that this appears not to be the case though. Thankfully I am going to Oktoberfest and I'll ride it there anyway.

The dingyslide with overly long lifthills is fab. The rest of this park... not so much, but still okay and compared to Serengeti well maintained.

Monday 6th April: Day Four, Movie Park Germany

The one and only day all nine of us would be visiting a park.

We were up and checked out of the hotel early. I went with Jordan and Conor in their hire care. I had worn shorts but the weather when we arrived at Move Park was awful, cold and drizzly so I took no shame in getting changed into some jeans in the back of the car.

Nic and Peep soon arrived and, of course, we had to wait around for car of Sue to arrive. We couldn't go in because Stone Cold had mine, Nic's and Peep's tickets.

10393941_10205602037844658_4102220493817618750_n.jpg

There weren't too many people milling around, hopefully the weather had put many people off bothering.

11127534_10205602036804632_6946645550239124607_n.jpg

Soon Sue and her clan arrived and we were in!

10169189_10205602040084714_6160938465580920231_n.jpg

Looking back at these photos, the weather does make the place look quite bleak whereas, in reality, it was reasonably a-ok.

We went straight for the new last year (I think it was last year), the Lost Temple but, as it was at the front of the park, it had quite a hefty queue so we gave up on that idea and went in search for credzzz.

We made our way over to Van Helsing. I'll chuck some photos of the park here.

10956092_10205602045844858_2247300661930154124_n.jpg

From first impressions, I really liked the look and feel of this park, and the weather wasn't letting that down for me. I can imagine it'd be a great park in the sun.

Nic's expression perfectly represented the weather.

11150827_10205602047764906_1045511565926067525_n.jpg

We finally arrived at the first cred of the day, Van Helsing's Factory, a Gerstlauer bobsled coaster.

10394119_10205602050524975_870003075293793086_n.jpg

In the queue line was a rather attractive mechanic telling us about the ride. Basically it is themed to Abraham Van Helsing from the film Dracula. The coaster takes you round the factory where Van Helsing prepares his cars for vampire hunting. Excuse the blurriness but here are the cars.

11150288_10205602053165041_3857864817085226776_n.jpg

I really enjoyed it. There's plenty of speed, whizzing around various things in the factory, under things, over things, past things, it's great. Suddenly everything goes dark and you whizz around a little more and finish...clearly they ran out of funding and the theming suffered. Shame it had to be like this because the rest of the coaster experience was quite good to be honest.

On the exit was a long hallway. Suddenly something fell from the ceiling. I shat myself and jumped half a mile in the air...much to the pleasure of Jordan and Conor who were waiting to see my reaction. **** hell.

Next we headed over to the Santa Monica Pier area. As the name would suggest, it's themed to a coastal fair and pier area in America. If it's specific to a certain state, as I know they have their own 'culture' as it were, someone else will have to say because I've only been to Florida, a commercial part, I've never seen the 'real' America :p

I didn't realise they had a Zamperla Disk'O (such creds). We made our way over to Bandit which Stone Cold had said was awful.

10428079_10205602054965086_4984613643344072385_n.jpg

There was basically no queue, only in the ride station. I decided middle would probably be less rough. We could see the coaster go around through the entrance to the station, my god did it look rough!

11149465_10205602058645178_3682439310760861572_n.jpg

I had the pleasure of being sat with Ploddish...at least we were both quite wedged in together meaning we couldn't really move around :p

11128756_10205602058245168_5143353864531413545_n.jpg

Looking forward to the cred...

11130194_10205602059165191_6265338603128524860_n.jpg

I was actually pleasantly surprised. It wasn't the most comfortable coaster in the world (duhhh) but it was actually reasonably pleasant, plenty of speed and not too rough, it vibrated which I actually quite enjoy... I loved how the coaster track dived under itself. It's good fun!

11150869_10205602059765206_2057770463853622782_n.jpg

Next up, MP Xpress, a Vekoma SLC...yayyy. I've only ridden one, Infusion at Blackpool and I don't remember it being that bad. But this one? This one was f**king s**t.

11138493_10205602063445298_8440357926583242543_n.jpg

Those cushions on the restraints were much needed.

It's just awful. Rough, uncomfortable, and just generally ****. It has ranked as my least favourite steel coaster so there's something. Awful thing. Moving on...

Peep and I (and someone else I think? I forget who, worry :p ) rode the drop tower.

11146177_10205602063965311_1947387221821429785_n.jpg

Thoroughly enjoyable, I don't like drop towers but love them at the same time, the build up is awful, the feeling of falling is fantastic, hence why I ride them. This packed quite a punch with its fall too. Great fun.

Next up, Time Riders.

11145197_10205602067005387_6035954574053989813_n.jpg

We saw that it had John Cleese in it so it'd be rude not to ride!

11051765_10205602067605402_5755458804402983804_n.jpg

John Cleese introduced the ride, he spoke in German...I don't care what you say, he was speaking German, it wasn't dubbed, that was his voice and the way he speaks. Much fabness <3

1907521_10205602069445448_1794329735424746346_n.jpg

We then filed into a room (I think there was an elevator first) deep underground inside a cave with the time machine.

10420332_10205602070405472_3050517872238404945_n.jpg

Some lights flash, some mist happens and a few bangs. Can't remember much else. You then enter a simulator, i.e. the 'time machine' and you travel back in time. First to the Ice Age with a Wolly Mammoth beating us up. Then we travel further back in time to the (I assume) Jurassic, yay dinosaurs. After that I can't really remember what happens, I think we travelled ahead of time to some futuristic city with things shooting at us. Anyway, it was great fun, and realllllly **** violent, like really violent. Really thrown around, it was excellent fun! :p

We next had some lunch, we watched some **** (new for this year) show, 'Break the Rules'.

10628527_10205602071285494_3905489145936367451_n.jpg

They were singing some song from High School Musical which meant we promptly moved on for some food. There was a Subway which I wish I had gone to but decided to go for **** theme park food.

11096709_10205602072125515_1071100410924763803_n.jpg

It was alright, but a Subway would have been nicer.

I found a Minion.

11129896_10205602073205542_6669541184738896192_n.jpg

And I bought a chocolate strawberry skewer for some extortionate amount of euros.

11150371_10205602073685554_1137377040855528607_n.jpg

No way was Jordan eating it.

After lunch, more creds beckoned so we headed over to Nick Land.

11150195_10205602074805582_5936969894310122809_n.jpg

Themed to Nickelodeon ****...obviously.

First up, Mission to Mars.

11150614_10205602074965586_1115230546405297426_n.jpg

A Backyardigans themed junior coaster by Vekoma.

11130244_10205602075005587_8834974302706915815_n.jpg

I rode back with Stone Cold...that was a squeeze haha. The coaster was alright, a plus one all the same though.

Next up, Ghost Chasers, a Mack Wilde Maus.

1476224_10205602080085714_6395323366617560546_n.jpg

It was alright, nothing much to say. Quite good fun but nothing special. Another plus one.

Next up was the last cred of the day, Jimmy Neutron's Atomic Flyer, a Vekoma suspended family coaster.

11149305_10205602082245768_2492392833629537548_n.jpg

11133846_10205602081445748_632911379524955752_n.jpg

I've ridden Freedom Flyer at Fun Spot America and Flying School at Legoland Florida and they're pretty harmless coasters, tamer but much more enjoyable than they're bigger brothers, the SLCs. I love the restrains and how much space you have in them. Yup, good fun.

That was all the creds. It was time for a couple more character points.

11137091_10205602082725780_1821502933873770357_n.jpg

Some more of Nick Land for you.

10988504_10205602085445848_6720608329564103891_n.jpg

Next up, we went on the Ice Age Adventure.

11136693_10205602086965886_3029873095984991328_n.jpg

It was a boat ride through many scary animatronics...which were very dusty. One thing I really liked was, as in the films, all along the walls a huge crack formed because of Scrat, it was all lit up and worked excellently. Loved this aspect. There are various other references to the first couple of movies, it's good fun but in need of a good clean, it appears to be left and forgotten.

11149575_10205602089645953_1693582040357440101_n.jpg

Next up, Mystery River, an indoor rapids ride.

11130141_10205602089685954_1375771105292037736_n.jpg

It's soooo good! The surprise of the day. The rapids themselves are quite calm but the theming is exceptional. So immersive and detailed. We went round and rode again immediately. As a rapids themselves, they're a bit meh, but the setting and theming is excellent. Loved it. I wish I'd taken photos but it was a rapids...so I obviously didn't ride with my camera.

We'd ridden most things over this side of the park so thought we'd make our way back over to the Lost Temple. One the way we had the pleasure of seeing the parade.

11149478_10205602102686279_3384491007047443529_n.jpg

But we made it to The Lost Temple.

10429232_10205602102726280_6738082497041249015_n.jpg

The queue line was well themed.

11130199_10205602103526300_8832863885444630445_n.jpg

It was basically a glorified simulator. You sit in a safari truck thing and drive into a cinema with surrounding screens. Some dinosaurs are there, loud sounds before reversing back to the station. It was disappointing, it could have been so much better. As the safari truck had a roof you couldn't really see the screens and if you were on the edge you could see the floor and the ceiling, so ruins the whole feeling. There was no fire and water, I felt they could have made this so much better. Really disappointing. At least they had a huge dinosaur animatronic at the exit.

11046458_10205602104886334_841849156723104430_n.jpg

Next we rode Alien Encounter, according to Wikipedia it's an Intamin Spillwater? Whatever one of those will do. Its basically a shoot the chute though, with a dark boat ride aspect at the start.

11150244_10205602105366346_2456236701926596588_n.jpg

10422171_10205602106446373_1947754320356925208_n.jpg

From what I remember it is basically a story of how all the missing boats and planes and stuff from The Bermuda Triangle were taken by aliens and brought here, to the inside of this volcano. It was good fun. I was pleasantly surprised that we didn't get soaked on the drop either. It was good fun!

We'd done pretty much everything we wanted to by now. I think we headed over to Van Helsing's Factory to ride that again but we didn't want to be too much longer because there was another cred to get!

I really quite liked Movie Park Germany. I'd heard mostly bad things about the place but was pleasantly surprised. There's some really good theming and not a bad selection of rides, Van Helsing's Factory and Mystery River being the highlights. Had a really good time here and the weather didn't dampen our spirits.

We got back in the cars and drove over to Schloss Beck, a **** hole theme park basically in Movie Park's car park. None of us wanted to pay €11 to enter this obvious pile of s**te but credz be credz.

15524_10205602109686454_2418332989932799415_n.jpg

We got to the entrance ready to pay €11 each. But we were refused entry. They park still had another hour to go until close, the woman explained she had no tickets left. There were 7 of us who wanted the cred, in, ride the thing and leave, she effectively turned down €77 at the end of the day. We tried to get her to go and get a manager because CRED but it was no good. I even tried persuading her with my German...fat lot of use that did :p. Disappointed we had to walk away. I have added the place to TripAdvisor and given it one star because we were not happy. Ugh, spite.

They days events did not end there though. It was time to embark on a 'mystery tour', I think I was the only one who didn't know where we were going and for that reason, everyone found it hilarious to not bother telling me.

Eventually we arrived at the Tiger and Turtle Magic Mountain.

11008611_10205602109326445_5971485896102604858_n.jpg

It's an art installation in Duisburg. You walk around it and get some 'great' views of the local area. (I put 'great' views in inverted commas for a reason that'll soon become apparent). There was quite a walk up to the thing. Sue and I, being geologists, took the rocky route.

Yup, an industrial estate and a housing estate. Great. I think the whole thing is great, really good fun, but I can't help but feel it should have been placed in a much better locality...realistically there is just nothing to see so it all seems rather pointless, but for a free attraction it is really great fun, I'm glad we went, if you're in the area, go check it out. I loved how it wobbles too. Such fun!

We made our way back down to the cars. We said goodbye to Peep and Nic as they were flying back to England that night and the rest of us made our way to our hotel in nearby Cologne. I was with Jordan and Conor in the car and arrived quite promptly. Over an hour later the others in Sue's car arrived, oh Sue xD

When they finally did arrive we headed off to the Hard Rock Cafe Cologne.

63934_10205602144327320_5294505709993195884_n.jpg

We passed another travelling fair, more cred possibility, eeeep.

When we arrived at the Hard Rock Cafe we were told that the gas was down, meaning most of the items were off the menu, but we stayed anyway. Conor and I shared nachos for starter.

And a chicken caesar salad for main. It was very nice and surprisingly quite thrilling.

And I had a beautiful fruity drink.

We then made our way over to the travelling fair in the hope of creds....but it was shut by the time we got there :/

We went straight back to the hotel instead, and basically straight to bed.

Thank you very much for reading once again, day five at Phantasialand up soon, (eeeeep).
