Ohh... where to start... well, I have a favourite or two from every type. But I think the sole winner has to be Feraligatr. Big, blue and badass.
From the first 150, Alakazam wins it for me.
Now that I've listed favourites from two generations, I might as well keep going with the last three.

Never watched the show, but I've played a bunch of the games on my laptop via emulators.
Some of my favorite ones that just kicked ass in battle were Blastoise, Swampert, Alakazam, Groudon, Rayquaza, Tyranitar, and Aggron.
I also used to play the card game a little bit, nothing serious, just with friends at school. I remember my favorite cards were Gengar, Poliwrath, and Ninetales.. they were absolutely beast.
Least favorite is definitely Wobbuffet. Those things sucked to come across in the wild.

Absolute favourite from Gen 5 has to be Samurott. I have a fetish for this guy:
