Individually, there were quite a few CFers there yesterday, so thought I might as well start a topic for it.
I had a destinctly average afternoon. If it wasn't for the lovely company, It'd have been even worse. Before we start, I'm not one to bash Thorpe unless it deserves it. I've had some fantastic days at the park, but unfortunately this wasn't one of them.
As is often the case, the bad organisation and massive queues spolit it. Yes, there was only one ride closed which makes a change, but unless they get everything organised well, it doesn't make much of a difference.
Something that always makes a difference to my day is how well the SRQ on stealth is being run. When we first arrived, the guy doing it was doing a great job, and the queue moved really fast. Later on, however, the woman doing it was a nightmare. While I was waiting, 5 empty single seats went because she wasn't paying attention. Myself and another person in the SRQ took it upon ourselves to just go and fill a single seat that was waiting because otherwise it would've gone empty. Not impressed.
To be fair, a lot of it is due to the idiots that visit. Vortex only had a short queue, but took ages because every single changeover was marred by people being idiots. It was also on quite a long cycle, but I don't mind that because it was a good ride. Very forceful at the bottom of the swing, and great airtime at the top
Oh, however, they did let a group of 4 kids with a yellow wristband re-ride, which as I understand it, should not be allowed.
Colossus, again, people being idiots held it up.
That was it, didn't get on anything else. The rest of the queues were massive, even right at the end of the day. Fastrack has to be the culprit. Whilst waiting for Stealth, a massive number of fastracks were let through, If I was in the normal queue, I'd have been right pissed off.
Also, I know they're never right, but the electronic queue times boards were wildly out. It said X had a 5 min queue, but the cattle pen outside was 3/4 full.
So yeah, not impressed.
Ride count in 3 hours:
Stealth x2 (both SRQ)
Colossus
Vortex
