Mikado the new biscuit stick coated in chocolate AKA POCKY.

I have been buying pocky from tokyotoys for about 2 years before Mikado was put on sale in the UK.

For my Otaku friends it means more pocky at a cheaper price. around 70p in most places.

My flatmate in Bahrain used to bring them back from Bangkok and mmmmm I loved them!! I never tried the strawb ones because I'm sure they'll be horrid! My mum actually bought me a pack of the Mikado ones from Tesco last night and mmmm so good to munch on them again!!

I've known about them for about 3 or 4 years now as my Asian friends from school eat them, but they aren't really something to go crazy about. Not even a snack sized portion for a pack if you ask me

LOOK WHAT I FOUND!

A friend of mine loves Pocky, but they can only be bought in special stores, and the packs are really small. Why can't the Japanese just start producing them in 300-packs?
I've tasted it a few times, and it's quite good, though far from the best candy around.

I've been eating Pocky for ages. Like seriously ages. I saw that Mikado crap in a newsagents today and was like wtf.

Strawberry <3

Mikado is made and sold by Kraft foods under licence from Glico. So its basicly the same thing just pakaged diferently.

I've been eating Pocky for years too. There's a hidden Asian food store in a back alley in Bournemouth which have been supplying me and my mates for some time - we normally walk in there and buy a bulk box of about 50 packs at a time.

I was having a pack only the other day. Eating a whole pack to yourself uses up about 60% of your daily fat allowance. :p

Stupid Europeans renaming Pocky. I used to go out with a guy who was really into anime, so I used to go to all these Japanesy places with him and get Pocky and other Japanese sweeties. Strawberry Pocky is the best <3

My friends have been having them for years (prob since starting secondary school). I've not had many, only had vanilla and the Mikado chocolate ones. Its so easy for me to get Pocky as I can just pop into Chinatown in London :p

Never seen the ad, and didn't know what they were called before today.

I have had them though (at a Playbarn with my Latte a few weeks ago).

It was very 'meh', but I'm not a fan of chocolate... Or cardboard... Or cardboard covered in chocolate.

I sometimes get Pepero from the Chinese supermarket in a Bradford market.
It's pretty much the same as Pocky, but it's made by Lotte (related to Lotte World?).
I've also had Strawberry Pocky from when I went to Manchester Chinatown too, and that's not too bad, but I prefer the chocolate ones.
Never tried Mikado but I saw it half price in Sainsbury's; I presume it's not that different to Pocky in taste?
