What's new

Disneyland Paris to celebrate 20 years

I think Peep maybe getting confused with the Arrow Looper at Gardaland, which has the new Vekoma trains?

Where does it say just the restraints?

http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com/2012/02/dlp-space-mountain-trains-will-get-new.html

It mentions it in the article where the news came from. Apparently they've already tested it out on one of the back cars of one of the trains to positive feedback.

Also, Python USED to have the Kumbak trains, this year they replaced them with the new style Vekoma trains instead:

Which were then replaced by these:

But now it has these:

My sister visited the other week and says they are a dramatic improvement.

Couldn't find another topic and cba to start a new one.

Sidenote: Space Mountain didn't ever receive those restraints. However the 1 week restoration turned into 3 weeks in November because of a highly stressed piece of track that needed sorting out. Anyway, bits of the track were replaced and now the ride is actually noticably smoother! Still can't stand the ride but still. Good!

Anywaaaaay.
In case yous lots didn't know DLRP are continuing the 20th anniversary celebrations through until september! Fantastic.

Not MUCH will change. However the main changes will obviously be the 'New Princesses' that everyone oh so love.... Dress and hair changes for everyone! Expected from around April but could be later in the year etc.

The next change is Disney DREAMS!
The two new sections that will be added will be Brave and The Lion King.
Brave I don't care about whatever, but TLK <3
Also, it's expected that they will be adding 'Mickeys MagicEARS' to be Sync'd along with the show (similar to those at California Adventure for World of Color)

The Parade will remain the same until the september when the music should change*
*they will be taking the words '20 years'.

March/April will see the large (and delayed) celebration for the 'Prince' where large scale shows and various special characters will be out and about in the park!

It's expected that Pirates of the Caribbean will be receiving Jack Sparrow Audio animatronics at some point this year!

Tarzan will be returning for another year.

There is also a rumor that Fantillusion will return at some point howvere this is a stronnnnnng RUMOR.

So yeaaaaah just a mini update from France ^_^

Sorry if this is all posted somewhere else already :D

So if Fantillusion isn't coming back, does this mean that there will be no night time parade? I say bring back the Main Street Electrical Parade!

Gutted to hear about the restraints on SM:M2, I hope it does recieve them eventually.

Wasn't Space Mountain meant to get a bunch of new generation trains? Like those on Python at Efteling. I found them very comfortable and the restraints were rather soft...

BTW, I think that DLP are quite cheeky stretching the 20th anniversary thing for almost two years. They did it for the 15th anniversary and I already found it cheap...

Pretty sure Paris decided to turn down the idea of adding Jack after they realised how much it'd set them back. The current closure till late March is a pure technical refurb, apparently.

Also pretty sure I read that Tarzan won't be returning this year.

Shame to hear about the Space restraints, I nearly forgot about that.

Tarzan may have changed status as there WERE auditions however they may have been cancelled.

New Disney Dreams Scene photos from the Castmember preview (Photo's/Video's are not mine obviously, found them online somewhere)

Now, Lion King replaced Jungle Book..... I did not like the Jungle book scetion of Dreams anyway so anything would have been better IMO... HOWEVER.....

The Lion King section is SO MUCH BETTER omg <3 <3<3<3

WITH LIGHTEARS:

Brave has now taken over Mary Poppins... Mary Poppins section was my second least favourite so once again I didn't really care what they did with it.
However they've actually done really well with Brave and it's actually really nice to see a full CGI Film scene on the castle as opposed to the tiny Rapunzel bit!

(secretly think I prefer it to Poppins!)

Official video release for Dreams - GLOW WITH THE SHOW <3 DREAMS <3

That Lion King sunrise bit looks cool, especially with the ear things (how much do those things cost anyway?).

Brave can **** right off though. Anything to do with that POS film, including the film itself, needs to disappear.

The ears were just for Press Event and Cast Member night so were free however the price will probs be like, 20 euros.

Another Video about the glow with the show ears:

^That video doesn't work in the UK due to EMI claims apparently.

I think it looks great with the ears but I fear that because they cost €20 that it'd be rare to see a lot of people wearing them which would ruin the effect a little as they clearly only look good when there's a lot of them.

Not sure if I'm getting confused with California or not here but I heard some areas of the park activate the lights too which I think sounds nice.

Like the ears they look cool :). Would have to get them.

The Brave section looks like its been done really well. Not actually seen the film yet!

Not to sure about the Lion King part. The rest of the show all fits the castle but for some reason it looks like that straight from the film and projected with no changes. As you say though anything is better than the Jungle Book. Now just replace Step in Time lol. Still looks good though just not as good as the rest.

Love this show cannot wait to see it again.

Peep it's World of Colour that uses park and ride lights.
