Cruise Ship New Updates | New Ships, New Attractions & General Cruise Ship Stuff
Welcome to the updated thread about Cruise Ships. I have seen there is a lot of interest in Cruise Ships here on CoasterForce, so I thought it would be appropriate to keep this thread going. It will mainly consist of talk about new onboard attractions, such as the ones already spoken about on this thread. With that, welcome, and here are a few updates and some stuff you probably haven't seen yet!
So, lets go back and update on the past stories on here...
Carnival Cruise Line, best known for the first rollercoaster at sea, "
Bolt: Ultimate Sea Coaster", announced last year the addition of 2 more Excellence-Class ships (Sisterships to
Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Jubilee) for delivery in Spring 2027 and Spring 2028. It was expected at the time, that these 2 vessels would mirror the experience that their older sisters had, however just yesterday, on Sunday the 6th of April 2025,
Carnival Cruise Line announced that the new vessels would be upgraded with more family-friendly features than ever before. They also named the vessels,
Carnival Festivale (2027) and
Carnival Tropicale (2028) both names again paying homage to the original
Carnival ships. To the surprise of many, gone are the days of
Bolt: Ultimate Sea Coaster, now in its place is
Sunsation Point, an upsized
Waterworks area, which they have dubbed,
Waterworks Ultra. Here is an image of the new area, replacing
Bolt: Ultimate Sea Coaster:

Carnival Cruise Line will be expanding again from 2029, with addition of its largest ships yet, codenamed
Project ACE. These new 8,000 Guest ships are rumoured to be home to the largest waterpark at sea, beating their competitor,
Royal Caribbean. More information about the new 235,000 Gross Ton ships will be available in a few years!
Now, lets move to
Disney Cruise Line. In December 2025, they will begin sailings on their largest ship to date, the
Disney Adventure, from Singapore! This new ship will feature the longest rollercoaster at sea. Which you guessed it... it's a Maurer Spike coaster. This ride has been sat around for almost 6 years now, with recent footage showing the ride has now been repainted ahead of its pull-down for delivery to the shipyard!
The
Disney Adventure will float of the construction hall at the Meyer Wismar shipyard, in Wismar, Germany on the 19th April 2025! This will allow the shipbuilders to fit the famous red funnels and
Ironcycle Test Run. I will further update the thread once construction gets started outside the construction hall!
Here is a quick reminder of what this ride is!:
Next, this was talked about recently on another thread, however, I might as well show it off a bit more.
Norwegian Cruise Line has just introduced it's newest ship, the
Norwegian Aqua on her first Transatlantic Cruise from Southampton to New York, were she arrived this morning (7th April 2025). The
Norwegian Aqua features the first Weigand Slide Coaster, known as the
Aqua Slidecoaster. Here is a look at the attraction, which may look tame, however, is highly regarded already as an awesome family attraction!:
Also arriving in the US today (7th April 2025) is the brand-new
MSC World America,
MSC Cruises' first fully US dedicated ship. This behemoth of a ship, the world's 8th largest ship, homeports in PortMiami, Florida! She features a first-at-sea swing ride, manufactured by Intamin Amusement Rides! Here is a look at this attraction, which I think would be a bit much, considering it is over 160ft above the ocean!:

I think that is everything now! I will try to keep this thread as updated as possible as I know there are many interested in the industry! I hope you enjoy the updates!
