Crazy Chinese Water Canon Ride.

This is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. But a new water park called Amazon Jungle Water Park has opened in Sanya, China.
Located on the holiday island of Hainan at the Mangrove Tree resort this slide seems to involve people sitting down while a whole load of water is dumped into their back, thereby firing them into the swimming pool.

Heh, that actually looks pretty fun. Wonder if that might hurt your back though as you get fired out.
 
So people sit on the end, and the equivalent of a Shoot the Chutes splash appears and launches them.

It's also a very fitting demonstration on how a hydro power plant works. We see there a water column of maybe six metres. Multiply that pressure by a hundred, and you can understand how much electricity some of these babies generate.
