Crap Thorpe Park rumour

I love Thorpe Park. The amount of stories, or non-stories in most instances, related to the park are unreal.

Thorpe Park tweeted this:
There have been no incidents @THORPEPARK today. Rumours of a death are liable and the source is being investigated
Source: http://twitter.com/THORPEPARK/status/58500122266435584

Anybody know where this rumour orginated from? It's a rather pathetic one I must say, but the tweet did bring a wry smile to my face.

Is it not like that thing that's been posted all over people's Facebook account? It's people sharing a link that's something like" OMG! Theme Park Accident at Alton Towers Today. ? Dead", then if you click on it (which I'm not retarded enough to do), it shares the link to someone else and keeps doing that. It's so stupid. I think it's possible one of these types of chain things has gone around about Thorpe? If so, good on them for kicking up a fuss, there's SO many gullible morons that will believe this and not go to the park's mentioned!

What are the rumours of a death "liable" for exactly? What are these rumours responsible for?

Idiot.

This, most likely. Blame Facebook developers and gullible, idiotic Facebook users, notably around 100 of my "friends".

Yeah, I had it too. I had 4/5 separate posts from people about the same topic, needless to say, they all got deleted within 1 minute of them being broadcasted.

I heard that one of the rotating saws on Saw's drops fell off, rolled over to Loggers Leap and cut a boat in half. The people inside the boat drowned.

I didn't know Thorpe was the site of Final Destination 6.

I think they might mean libel tbh.

Hence my emphasising the word "liable" by putting it in quotation marks and calling the person who posted it on Twatter an idiot.

It just annoys the **** out of me when official messages/updates from parks are written by morons. It shouldn't matter if it's just Twitter/Facebook, it's still a representation of the park.

That would be ****ing awesome.

They should actually make something like this happen maybe once every 10,000 rides just to add that 'death element' to it.

I can't actually agree more with the latter of your post. Just because it's a social networking website, doesn't mean they should become less professional.

Oh, Sam, how I've missed your posts! lol!

No. It would destroy one of Thorpe's best rides: Logger's Leap.

Yeah, plus, you wouldn't want to destroy the Diana memorial!
