So I lost touch with the coaster community in 2008 and have not really had many park visits. I would like to find out what has been built and what has gone. (apparently the corkscrew at Flamingo land has also gone). I'm looking forward to riding new coasters, so what should I look out for?

The flying Jumbos at Chessington have moved from Toytown to Mexicana.

Apart from that you haven't missed much.

Wood coasters can do this...

Steel Coasters can do this....

B & M is now building these

Gerstlauer has gotten famous for building these

And Intamin is still making huge, fast rides that breakdown frequently, often need trims, but still push the limits of what a coaster can do.

Intimidator 305 looks absolutely mental (Id have to be drunk)!

It seems like some wooden coasters are getting steel tracks. I'm really not sure what to make of that.

Insane, well looks insane. I heard Steel Dragon has some form of special earthquake protection? I doubt ill be going to Japan any time soon though.

^The trim brakes on Intimidator are exactly the same as they were when the coaster opened. The only permanent change they made was to the first curve so that it banks up into the airitme hill sooner.
