What's new

Carowinds | Snoopys Racing Railway | ART Engineering Family Launch Coaster | 2025

The park is making a major announcement at 9am U.S. eastern time. Posting on their social media 10 minutes later.
From the email I received:
Carowinds will make an official announcement regarding the 2025 operating season that will significantly enhance the family experience at Carowinds on Wednesday, August 7. This major announcement includes new additions to Carowinds that promise to offer even more fun and memorable moments for guests.

Two new attractions, as expected;
  • Snoopy's Racing Railway: Guests can join Snoopy as he races to deliver root beer and pizza to Camp Snoopy's Mess Hall, where Woodstock and his yellow bird buddies are causing quite a ruckus. This family-friendly steel launch coaster accelerates from 0 to 31 mph in seconds, providing an exhilarating adventure for all ages. Riders will experience exciting dips and wild turns, ensuring the delivery arrives safely and on time. Riders get double the fun as they race through the course twice.
  • Charlie Brown's River Raft Blast: Families can hop aboard an eight-seater boat at Snoopy's swimming hole for a splish-splash adventure with family and friends. Equipped with on-board and onshore water cannons, riders can engage in friendly water skirmishes with other boats, spraying each other as they navigate the river channel. With their trusty water cannon mounted on the side, they can join in the excitement with other campers. Throughout their journey, riders will encounter their favorite Peanuts characters swimming, floating, and splashing—all eager to drench them in fun!
New Enhancements:
  • Splash Play Zones: Families can beat the heat in Camp Snoopy's brand-new splash play zone areas. Featuring enhanced shade and refreshing water features, these areas are designed to ensure everyone stays cool and has fun. The ample shade and water make it the perfect relaxing spot on a hot Carolina summer day.
  • Camp Store Meet-and-Greet Experience:Guests can enter the newly remodeled Camp Store to meet Peanuts costume characters at their interactive, camp-themed meet-and-greet area. Complete with rustic log benches around a cozy firepit, this air-conditioned environment offers ideal photo opportunities and memorable interactions with favorite characters.

Uhhh what happened to the train ride?

Weird they're going with the splash battle, I feel like most parks already took theirs out. Dollywood, Indiana Beach, Six Flags Great America.... in fact, outside of Storyland, does any other US Park still have one?

Yea there’s a few that have popped up (Lost Island, soon Epic Universe).

Carowinds also has a bit of a water ride drought at present (no pun intended), as in they have none outside of the waterpark. Based on surveys management is aware of this, so probably a nice little option for the kids in the meantime. Not a full size attraction, really.

Hate to double-post but how does one move to construction?

We the press were sent interviews from a few key people with the project. Below is a quick spliced interview between Construction Manager James Sidler and ART Engineering CEO Georg Behringer talking about the coaster. It's aimed to be delivered by or around year's end so that they can open with the park in 2025. In the meantime, demolition must take place and footers should be dug (around 12 feet deep at minimum);

This also went under the radar, but first coaster parts (anchor baskets) were delivered from Germany at the end of June;
