When you've got nice meal, for example a roast dinner, do you prefer to eat your favourite part of the meal first or last?

If you eat the nicest bit first, you're left with the bits you're not so keen on at the end. However if you save the nicest bit until last, then you run the risk of letting it go cold and/or getting too full and not enjoying it as much.

Personally I mix it up. I eat the meal in a somewhat random order, but usually leave the nicer bits towards the end.

So which is it for you?

I usually eat it with the other things, or half way through the meal so I'm not full when I get to it, but if I only had these choices, I would pick last, such as I hate chips, but if they are served to me I would eat them, before eating whatever else is with it.

I dunno. First I guess. I work with the largest thing (which is usually what the dish is) and then work around the plate. So say I have a roast I'll usually start with the yorkshires if they're on top and the meat and then work round with the vegetables. :p

I have a sort of method with my meals, if things work together then a little bit of everything needs to go on my fork. And I balance out the meal that my final mouthful should be most of the things on the plate. :D

Most of my meals are consumed with epic amounts of sauce on them so I can't really taste anything except the sauce..... best way for it. Generally I won't leave any particular 'part' of the emal till last though.....

I usually mix it up, so that I get a taste of yuminess every couple of bites.

However, if I know I won't finish what's on the plate, I eat what I like best first and hope that I'm too full to finish the stuff I don't like.

Usually it depends on what I'm eating and how hungry I am. But most of the time I just eat and don't care what order I eat in

Save the best for last, pretty much all the time! I always feel like I should get the crap out of the way first, and then it sort of builds up to the best bit of the meal. The downside is you can sometimes end up full and not able to finish the best bit then!

Definately leave it until last....

I don't mix my food up either.... I don't put my curry on my rice or anything...

I think it's just from being a child and getting the veg out of the way lol :p

I mix. There's VERY few meals where I don't eat everything all together (bar when it's like, fast food and you can't, and even then I can often be caught stuffing my chips into my burger), but, I'll always end with the nicest, biggest mouthful at the end.

If it's like, pasta, I'll always keep a bit of the sauce and some cheese over for the last bite, so it's extra special.

On the rare occasions, like, the other day I had dippers and smilies but was not given cultery (I was in the north, it was to be expected), I alternate. So, it's one dipper, then one smilie, then one dipper... But, you always have to end on a dipper.
