Backmasking songs

Load of tosh. Sad people just hoping they hear something 'creepy' in songs if they play them backwards.

I actually heard a rumour that Lady Gaga's Bad Romance was actually a Backmasked song, and that if you play it backwards it's actually the original track.

Well, not really, but it would be a good explanation of the rubbish she spews out of her lungs...

Actually, it IS real.

It's very easy to do, too.
Say the subliminal message I want to say is "cheese", I'd say the word into a computer and play that backwards. I'd then think of a matching word that sounds like the backwards played subliminal...

I've done it, I can make you one right now.

Nobody is saying it can't be done, or isn't done. It's just that in the cases where it's claimed to be done where the original artist is saying "no it wasn't".

In the case I quoted above, the sound engineer says that it's easy to do, but it's very difficult (almost impossible) to then actually write a song where it makes sense and sounds good too.

Take Stairway to Heaven. Generally regarded as a blinding bit of song writing and lyricism. Now, imagine just how blindingly brilliant Robert Plant would have had to have been to make one of the (cough) best songs ever written AND add in backmasking deliberately into it as well!

It's just unfeasible.

Plus, it's never been proven in any way, shape or form that backwards messages work on a "subliminal" level. The human brain (even subliminally) can't work out complex words that are played backwards. So the whole thing is "a crock of ****"
