Alton Towers | Unknown | Unknown Junior Coaster | 2026

My money is on a clone of the B&M wing coaster at Legoland Deutschland
That would be a bizarre choice for a kid’s area in a major theme park that already has much more intense inverting coasters. Maximus makes sense where it is since Legoland as a whole aims much more kid-friendly than Alton, so there it stands out.

Not to mention Maximus has a 1.2m minimum height requirement which would be way too high for CBeebies Land’s target audience.

That's not really the right coaster for the age group for Cbeebies - the IP is very firmly aimed at pre-schoolers. Even Spinball Whizzer couldn't get integrated into the area without standing out like a sore thumb.

The only family/junior IP area in this country that I see offering something similar on that thrill level would be Nickelodeon Land. Other than Jumanji or a different IP 🤔

I hope whatever is coming its a step up from Octonauts, thinking of manufactures Merlin have been working with something like a Zierer force (Flying Eagle) or Zamperla Junior (Eel racer) would be my pick.

Happy anouther coaster is coming to a UK merlin park, while not on the same scale as the 2000s at least all the parks are getting coasters. So, i wondered and did this graph to show coasters opened by each park by decade.

(You could also add Nemesis revamp as a +1. As well as counting both sides of miniature speedway instead of counting it as just one)

Oops, my bad I forgot this was a serious business only thread!

Of course they're not going to get a wing coaster. Putting demographics aside, they don't have the height available there and there's zero chance it would ever get past the planners in that location.

You've done it now, it's definitely going to be a B&M Wing now!

I've seen far more ridiculous suggestions on here which were meant with the utmost seriousness! It's hard to tell on the Internet.

CBeebies is predominantly aimed at children under 6 so realistically we aren't looking at anything that's going to directly interest people here. It'll be at the scale of the existing attractions.

Assuming the coaster is going on the Postman Pat site (as rumoured), and with the possibility of the removal of Get Set Go Treetops Adventure as well, that will leave them with quite a gap in terms of rides that don't have any physical intensity at all. It's worth pointing out that Treetops Adventure is manufactured by MSI Transportation, the same company that built Sky Rider at Legoland Windsor, which is being removed as we speak.

No theme park should be without a good car ride, in my opinion (such as the Doremi Farm tractor ride at Gardaland). With this in mind, I still think there is a fair chance of Alton Towers selling Spinball Whizzer before long. Pure speculation, but I could see the Spinball site eventually being used for a newer monorail from Metallbau Emmeln, with a boat and/or car ride underneath, which works so well at Paultons.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of those lift and launch coasters Merlin have put into their Peppa pig parks. Would fit quite nicely and it's the right size ride.
