What's new

Alton Towers | Unknown | Unknown Junior Coaster | 2026

Hopefully something with a bit more ride-time than Octonauts.
Alton actually fares quite well with the younger rider lineup, with the RMT, Octonauts, Spinball and arguably Thirteen.

Surprising news. Could be a Zierer Force, I suppose. They already have a Zamperla, and the Vekoma ones are probably more of a big deal than the way they're describing it.

This is definitely not what I was expecting the park’s next investment after Project Ocean to be!

I think it could be a bigger coaster than Octonauts myself. It would make more sense given the current gaps in Alton’s lineup if it was a little bigger, and I also think that a tiny coaster wouldn’t necessarily have needed to have planning permission filed over a year before opening.

I am at a bit of a loss as to where it could go unless they’re removing Spinball Whizzer and extending CBeebies onto what is currently Adventure Land, however. There isn’t tons of available space in CBeebies Land, and a coaster will need a fair amount of land.

I'd bet that there gonna remove Pat for this and use that ride area with it being themed to Bluey especially as Disney have just announced Bluey is to Join U.S. Theme Parks and Cruise Lines in 2025 and they appear to be working with BBC Studios too

This seems very late in the day to be submitting applications for a new coaster to open next year?

The pessimist in me suspects did Spinball need some unexpected closed season repairs so they are getting rid and putting in a new kiddies coaster in its place? Hope i’m wrong.

Next year? Its for 2026. 🙂 I admit In less than a fortnight that will be next year

Bet its been turned into the new CWOA coaster
I don’t think that’s too likely seeing as Chessington’s coaster has an outdoor section whereas Horizon doesn’t.

The only known similarity between the two proposals is a large shed; we have no confirmation or even indication that Horizon is/was an Intamin Multidimensional Coaster.

Ah ok my mistake I thought this was for next season.

Still hope this isn’t a Spinball replacement though, there is a pretty large empty plot where they do the character meet and greets, hopefully it’s going there.

Manufactures and parks in consulting stages always modify layouts, could be possible

Moved a bunch of posts from the different threads into this one thread. There will be some funny post order/duplicates of people sharing the news.

Postman Pat actually occupies a deceptively large area, from having looked at Google Earth.

According to my rough Google Earth scour, it’s around 87m long and 26m wide at its longest point in each dimension.

For comparison, Octonauts, the other coaster in the area, is around 34m long and 15m wide.

With this in mind, I think a coaster replacing Postman Pat could potentially usurp Octonauts in size. Admittedly, there is Get Set Go to contend with, but if they’re clever in how they design it, that shouldn’t be an issue. And even if Get Set Go is an issue, the area they have that doesn’t encroach upon it is still probably at least Octonauts-sized.

Wouldn't be surprised if they rip Tree Top Adventure down tbh
