What's new

A Reflection On The 2009 Season - Yes, it's that time again.

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season?
Yes because I had no plan at the beginning of the year that I was going to get to any European parks and I set a target of getting about 10 new credits from some small parks in England. In the end I got 61 new credits and it was my best 'coaster year to date.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?
Colossos at Hiede and Goliath at Walibi World

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?
Saw, Fluch, Tornado, Mumbo Jumbo

How many and/or which parks did you visit?
Thorpe, Chessington, Adventure Island, Paultons, Hiede Park, Djurs Sommerland, Tivoli Friheden, Fårup Sommerland, Karolinelund, Tivoli Gardens, Bakken, Hansa Park, Walibi World, Amsterdam Dungeon, Flamingo Land, Lightwater Valley.

What was your favourite moment of the 2009 season?
Euro live =]

What was the biggest surprise of the year?
Piraten, it was just amazing !!

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?
Fluch at Hansa Park

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?
The fact that I still havn't been to Alton since 2006

And anything else you might want to add.
2009 was great, bring on next year :)

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season?

I started the season at 154 and was hoping to break 175. I finished up at 213.. which is also 59 new credits for myself.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?

X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain. #7 overall.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?

Just Diamondback.

How many and/or which parks did you visit?

Cedar Point
Kings Island
Holiday World
Beech Bend
Waldameer
Kennywood
Michigan's Adventure
Six Flags Great America
Six Flags St. Louis
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Vegas Parks/Rides

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?

I have a few moments:

1. Myself and Hyde244 on TTD at the CF Live. Just awesome awesome time.

2. Myself and LFTL on Evel Kinevel.. 16 rides?

3. BOTH times on Pilgrims Plunge at Holiday World. Epic way to ride Jerry, Taylor, and Aidan. :p

What was the biggest surprise of the year?

Indiana Beach and Cornball Express. Talk about left field park/ride that was just awesome.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?

Diamondback really changed the landscape and outlook for Kings Island IMO. Before, it was a glorified credit run.. and now it is actually worth a visit.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?

Not riding Prowler at WoF. Damnit.. MiA sucked.. but I love the kids. <3

Did you reach that coaster count goal set at the beginning of the season?
Yep. I think my original target was 60 something, but I managed a few more than that, and 72 is a nice number.

The best new for you coaster of the year?
Hmmm. That's a toughie. I would have to say The Ultimate, simply for the pain factor.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?
Yep, Mumbo Jumbo, Saw.

How many and/or which parks did you visit?
I visited lots. Alton about 5 times, Thorpe about the same, Lightwater Valley, Adventure Island, WMSP, Billing, Flamingoland, Chessie, Drayton Manor...erm, I might have missed one out...

What was your favorite moment of 2009?
Have too many.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?
Mumbo is a great addition to 'Mingoland. A great coaster with a nice little record which will certainly boost visitor numbers in 09 and in the next few years.

Biggest disappointment of 2009?
Saw. Nice coaster, but nothing like many of us had wanted/expected.

Random Stuff
Next year I will be back...with a vengeance...

2. Myself and LFTL on Evel Kinevel.. 16 rides?

3. BOTH times on Pilgrims Plunge at Holiday World. Epic way to ride Jerry, Taylor, and Aidan.

Aha, I got so tired of walking through the damn queue but it was the first time I ever just got to sit on a coaster and go around multiple times without getting off. Says something about the quality of Evel compared to Rumbler.. We were sick of Rumbler after what, five rides? Lmao.

And Pilgrims Plunge WAS pretty epic because it was scary as hellll </3

Lol, I went to Thorpe Park once. It was a drunken spur of the moment thing too. Was rather fun.

I may try and visit a few more parks next year. :/

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season?
I think I did, or there about at least. DLP never happened, but got to Mingoland instead and got the big coasters there. Also got on every 'big' coaster at BPB as well as the only coaster I hadn't done at Alton, so it was quite a successful year for me. I rode every coaster I had been on before that isn't for very little kids, been demolished or is status unknown. A great year for me I think.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?
Grand National. Easy.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?
Mumbo Jumbo.

How many and/or which parks did you visit?
Alton x2
Mingoland x3
BPB x2
Camelot x1

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?
Too many to choose. Scarefest has to get a special mention, though, everything about the day, apart from the emo music they played, was magical.

What was the biggest surprise of the year?
How good Rita was at Scarefest at night on the back row. How a ride that is so bad can be so good is beyond me. Back row is clearly the only seat to go on.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?
Don't know, the only 2009 coaster I've done is Mumbo, but Blue Fire looks amazing, and some of the Scandinavian additions, like Lynet and Fluch should be massive boosts to those parks. Also Diamondback looks fantastic, never being there before, I can not agree or disagree with Snoo, but it is certainly much more worthwile going to now.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?
Can't believe I'm going to say this, but...Nemesis at Scarefest in the dark. Considering last Scarefest and the summer being too good to be true and by far the best two rides on any coaster I have ever had, it just didn't happen this time. It was still amazing, this is Nemesis we are talking about, but it was still no where near as good as it was the last two times.

Random Stuff
Next year I don't have plans for any new parks apart from maybe Drayton, although I would like to hit LWV and maybe make DLP happen. SW6 will open and I'm going on open day, but apart from that, if I go to Drayton then that will be the only new rides I go on that I know of at this moment in time.

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season?

I didn't have a goal but I did get on 14 new credits this year.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?

Blue Fire - awesome ride and now my joint number 1 with Superman Escape.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?

Yes - Blue Fire and Saw.

How many and/or which parks did you visit?

I went to :

Alton Towers
Adventure Island
Chessington
Europa Park
Flamingo Park Hastings
Thorpe
Lots of funfairs - the best of which was going to Hull

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?

I've got lots of great moments from this year including - Saw annual pass day, going to Hull Fair, Europa Park and Scarefest, Terror of the Towers was fab!

What was the biggest surprise of the year?

Flamingo Park in Hastings installing a topscan! - fantastic and very random! :D

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?

Out of places I've been to, Speed Wave at Flamingo Park and Blue Fire.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?

Not sure but probably Thorpe failing on opening day :D

Random Stuff

Looking forward to 2010 - mainly because I'm hopefully going to Florida :D

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season?
I don't think I set myself a goal of sorts, but I've ended the year on 200, which is, I think, an impressive number. I wish I could remember what I started on though =[

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?
There are loads! Goliath, my new number one, was obviously fantastic. Troy similarly wants. If I'm honest, the best and biggest surprise of the year for me was Anubis:The Ride at Plopsaland, never has a coaster exceeded my expectations as much as this one did. Fabulous.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?
Saw:The Ride, which I didn't think was too bad (I know I'm in a minority here) Fluch von Novgorod (amazing sans theming, can't wait to go back and see what it's like avec) and Anubis:The Ride (see above) are a few that spring to mind.

How many and/or which parks did you visit?
Oh god, there's loads! I really went for it this year. Let's see:
Alton Towers, Bakken, Blackpool, Bottons, CWoA, Clacton (too many times lmao), Djurs Sommerland, Drayton Manor, Dunes Leisure, Fantasy Island, Farup Sommerland, Flamingoland, Golden Palm Resort, GYPM, Hansa Park, Heide Park, Hemsby Fun Park, Joyland, Karolinelund, Knightly's Fair, LWV, Mack's Amusements, Southport, Old Macdonalds Farm, Paultons Park, Pettits Animal Park, Pleasure Island, Pleasurewood Hills, Plopsaland, Rainbow Park, Rhyl Promenade, Thorpe Park, Tivoli Friheden, Tivoli Gardens, Toverland, Walibi World, Wallis' Family Fair, West Midlands, Williams Amusements.

God, I've surprised even myself! XD

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?
Favourite moment of 2009 has got to be drunken times on Collossos. Firstly it was a ****ing amazing coaster, secondly it was made better because we thought it was down for the day and thirdly, drunk on a coaster=best experience ever!

What was the biggest surprise of the year?
Anubis:The Ride, see above.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?
Fluch von Novgorod, because awesome but I'm also inclined to saw T'Edge at Paultons Park. It's exactly the kind of ride that will flourish at a place like Paultons and I'll be glad to see the park continue to go from strength to strength.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?
Daemonen. That is all.

I'd just again liker to thank everyone for making Denmark the best holiday of my life. Nothing can ever compare to it in my opinion and I just hope 2010 brings many more trips like this one! CF has been a massive part of my life this year and has made it one of the most unforgetable years of my life. Cheers!

Re: A Reflection On The 2009 Season - Yes, it's that time ag

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season?

Yes. I believe my goal was 900, and I reached 925.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?

I got a lot of New For Me coasters this year that I loved, that most people got years ago:
X2, Scream, Xcelerator, Ghostrider, Afterburn (CGA), Dueling Dragons, Hulk, Kraken, Sheikra, Griffon and Montu for example. Add in Diamondback, Manta and Prowler and that's a REALLY tough call.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?

Yes, a few: Manta (Media Day), Diamondback (Opening Day), Prowler, Terminator: Salvation, Serpent @ Kokomo's, Grover's Alpine Express, Jett Star, and the kiddie coaster at Fun Spot USA. I actually really liked three of those.

How many and/or which parks did you visit?

I've listed them elsewhere on the board, but I visited 67 parks or FECs and a couple of fairs. 53 of those I'd never been to before.

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?

Not really a moment, but rather a series of experiences: 'Discovering' the charm at some of the tiny amusement parks in Northern California.

What was the biggest surprise of the year?

Squeezing in a 2nd trip to Florida, after not having been in about 15 years! OR Getting to go to Universal Studios FL and IOA for the first time ever, (and twice, and for free) when I wasn't even planning on going at all this year. OR Squeezing in Lagoon during a 4-hour layover in Salt Lake City.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?

Diamondback or Prowler

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?

Terminator: Salvation. It's decent, but way overhyped.

And anything else you might want to add.

I made the unplanned milestone of having been on every B&M in North America this year, went on some fun trips with cool people, met some new people, (even a couple from this board) in all, it was a great year!

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season (can't find that topic at the moment)?

I did not set a target so what ever I done was ok.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?

Collosos at Heide was the best coaster for me in 2009.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?

I rode Saw, Flunch and Mumbo Jumbo.

How many and/or which parks did you visit?

I visited about 12 parks this year.

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?

The Euro Live by far.
GF was fantastic as well, Thorpe for once was great and there was not one single let down.

What was the biggest surprise of the year?

Hansa Park, I really thought it was going to be rubbish and I really liked it.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?

Flunch at Hansa.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?

Saw the Ride at Thorpe Park. They could not have got it more wrong if they tried.

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season?

Like most people, I didn't really have a target... I got just under 100 new creds this year, which isn't as good as last years 130, but seeing as the Cali trip had less creds than East Coast, and I didn't have as many UK creds left, i'm pretty happy!

Which Parks?

Thorpe, Chessington, Legoland Windsor, Brighton Pier, New Pleasureland Southport, Brean Leisure Park, Luna Park, Wiener Prater, VidamPark, Adventuredome, Adventure City, Belmont Park, Buffalo Bills Resort & Casino, California's Great America, Coles Giant Funfair, Crealy Park, DisneyLand California, Disney's California Adventure, Gilroy Gardens, John's InCREDible Pizza, Knotts Berry Farm, Stratosphere Tower, Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix, Legoland California, Leisure Ranch, Milky Way Adventure Park, New York New York Hotel & Casino, Pacific Park, Sahara Nascar Cafe, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, SeaWorld San Diego, Scandia, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Symonds Yat Leisure, Treasure Island Amusement Park, Teignmouth Pier, Clacton Pier, Flambards Village Theme Park and Taylors FunFair.

That's why I don't put them all in my sig :p.

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?

Probably the whole trip I did with Kir in central europe. Wandering around the cities of Prague, Vienna and Budapest, and visiting parks without having to travel to them was like hitting two fabulous birds with one stone. A nice mix of culture and creds.

What was the biggest surprise of the year?

X2. I knew it would be a bit crazy, but OMG.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?

Terminator. Nuff said.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?

Hmm... Speed in Vegas was poop, as was Revolution at SFMM.

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season (can't find that topic at the moment)?

I didn't really have a target, but I definately got enough theme park action this year that I wanted. Only 1 new coaster this year.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?

By default, Mumbo Jumbo. But I didn't like it.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?

Mumbo Jumbo. See above.

How many and/or which parks did you visit?

3xAlton Towers, 1xFlamigoland, 1xDrayton Manor. fairly good count for me. Although I would have liked to do Ghosterforce VI so i could get more out of the annual pass.

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?

Probably the visit to Drayton with a select few CFers. Empty park, and it was a really fun day. I still agree that Drayton Manor is one of the best parks to go to for antics. plus I got to see all of the park without being stressed about trying to cram everything in.

What was the biggest surprise of the year?

Nothing really surprising this year. I did Nemesis front row first time this year, but I was expecting that to be awesome.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?

I dunno, Saw? I haven't been keeping up with park updates this year.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?

Mumbo Jumbo.

OK, since Jake did his and I can basically C&P I'll do a park list...

Alton Towers (x5), Thorpe (x6), Chessington (x2), Legoland Windsor, Brighton Pier (everything was shut </3), Adventuredome, Adventure City, Belmont Park, Buffalo Bills Resort & Casino, California's Great America, Crealy Park, DisneyLand California (x2), Disney's California Adventure (x2), Gilroy Gardens, John's InCREDible Pizza, Knotts Berry Farm, Stratosphere Tower, Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix, Legoland California, Leisure Ranch, Milky Way Adventure Park, New York New York Hotel & Casino, Pacific Park, Sahara Nascar Cafe, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, SeaWorld San Diego, Scandia, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Symonds Yat Leisure, Teignmouth Pier, Clacton Pier, Flambards Village Theme Park, Heide Park (x2), Movie Park, Toverland, Europa Park, Phantasialand, Holiday Park, Disneyland Paris (x2), Walt Disney Studios (x2), Parc St Pauls, Parc Asterix and Jardin d'Acclimatation.

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season (can't find that topic at the moment)?

Didn't really have a target, but I got more done than I thought I would.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?

Colossos at Heide-Park was fantastic. Closely followed by El Toro at Freizeitpark Plohn, and honourable mentions to Troy and Jetline.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?

Quite a few. El Toro (Freizeitpark Plohn), Tornado (Bakken), Insane (Grona Lund), Tranan (Skara Sommerland), Saw (Thorpe Park), Mumbo Jumbo (Flamingoland), Fluch Von Novgorod (Hansa Park), and a couple of new kiddy coasters.

How many and/or which parks did you visit?

A fair few places.

Alton Towers, Bakken, Barry's Amusements, Belantis, Blackpool, Bonbon-Land, Bottons, CWoA, Clacton Pier, Djurs Sommerland, Drayton Manor, Dunes Leisure, Fantasy Island, Farup Sommerland, Flamingoland, Freizeitpark Plohn, Funtasia, Golden Palm Resort, Grona Lund, Hamburgerdom, Hansa Park, Heide Park, Karolinelund, Knightly's Fair, Legoland Billund, LWV, Linnanmaki, Liseberg, Mack's Amusements, Pleasureland Southport, Paultons Park, Perks Funworld, Pleasure Island, Pleasureland Southport, PowerPark, Rainbow Park, Rhyl Promenade, Sarkaniemmi, Seilbanen Thale, Serengeti Safaripark, Skara Sommerland, Taylor's Amusments, Thorpe Park, Tivoli Friheden, Tivoli Gardens, Toverland, Tusenfryd, Tranmore Amusments, Treasure Island, Walibi World, Wallis' Family Fair, West Midlands Safari, Williams Amusements.

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?

There's so many I can't decide between them. The whole TPR Scandi trip was incredible, the CF Euro-Live was great, and Ghosterforce was the best one for quite a few years.

What was the biggest surprise of the year?

Again, there's been loads - most of them Intamin related. Tornado at Bakken which throws you off the top of the lift at the speed of light, Insane at Grona Lund really living up to it's name and giving a trip participant a huge nosebleed, El Toro at Freizeitpark Plohn exceeding all expectations I had, Vertigo at Tivoli Gardens for doing crazy things to my body, and the weirdness of Tranan at Skara Sommerland.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?

I'd have to say Fluch Von Novgorod. It's a great ride and it's not even finished yet. I'm looking forward to going back when the theming is complete and its better than ever.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?

Scream at Heide-Park breaking down. =[

And anything else you might want to add.

It's been a fantastic 2009. I don't think 2010 is gonna come remotely close to how amazing this year has been. Had a couple of awesome trips in Scandinavia, finally got to a few parks in Germany (WANT MORE) and hung out with some wonderful people.

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season (can't find that topic at the moment)? I definitely did and passed it by a mile! I think I set it for 30ish and I ended up with 63.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year? Either Boulder Dash or Bizarro at SFNE

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?
Nope...I was hoping for Flying Turns but of course that didn't work out.

How many and/or which parks did you visit? I went to 11 parks and a fair - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, DHS, Animal Kingdom, Six Flags New England, Lake Compounce, Knoebel's, Hersheypark, Kennywood, Cedar Point, Wild Waves, and the Puyallup Fair.

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season? Going to Cedar Point was amazing. I never even dreamed that I could possibly go until I graduated high school.

What was the biggest surprise of the year?
The airtime on Phoenix surprised me...not exactly a big surprise or anything but I'd never been on a coaster with real airtime until this year and it was amazing.
What was the best addition to a park in 2009? I don't know since I haven't ridden anything new but I'd say Manta and Diamondback look really good and I've heard good things about them.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?
Flying Turns not being open...although that was pretty forseeable.

This year was amazing for me because my aunt and uncle took me on a roller coaster road trip with my cousin on the East coast, something I never expected to happen at the beginning of the year. I rode a bunch of great coasters and I'm pretty sure nothing this exciting will happen next year.

1. Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season?
No. I didn't make it to Missouri and Arkansas like I planned. I missed SFSTL, WOF, SDC, and Magic Springs. During that week, I did go to Old Town here in Kissimmee, FL. Windstorm was a rare type of steel coaster for me. Next door at Fun Spot did give me 2 great flat ride credits in the form of a giant swing and a double ferris wheel. Of course, I was at Sea World Orlando for the opening of Manta. I did get 1 vacation to Texas so I picked up 23 credits in 3 parks there.

2. What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?
Manta, Mr.Freeze (SFOT), Shockwave (SFOT), Steel Eel (SWSA), and Superman Krypton Coaster (SFFT) were all very good.

3. Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?
I rode Manta many times, but I think that I will miss HRRR for now. Diamondback will be a sure thing for next year.

4. How many and/or which parks did you visit?
I was in the normal ones here in Florida: the 4 Disney, the 2 Universal, SeaWorld, and Busch Gardens. I also went to many water parks here. I don't know if Old Town or Fun Spot count as "parks". In Texas, I was in Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and SeaWorld San Antonio.

5. What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?
The lift hill on Manta for the first time was wonderful. Going forward or backward on the "top hat" on Mr.Freeze was almost more than I could take. The first drop on Superman Krypton Coaster was over the side of the rock wall, so that was a bit much.

6. What was the biggest surprise of the year?
Mr. Freeze, Judge Roy Scream (SFOT), Runaway Mountain (SFOT), Road Runner Express (SFFT), and Tony Hawk's Big Spin (both SF Texas parks) were more than I expected. On a round raft ride at SeaWorld San Antonio I got much more wet than I thought that I would have.

7. What was the best addition to a park in 2009?
Manta was the only new attraction to a park that I had already been to. It was very good.

8. What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?
Texas Giant and Rattler are 2 woodens in Texas that I rode that stink, but then again many others have said so too. Titan, a twisted mega/hyper by Giovanola at SFOT, had more twists and fewer drops than the B&M's, Intamin's, or Morgans that I like. La Vibora, a bobsled, was very rough on the mid-course breaks. Avalanche at KD was the best of this type, and Disaster Transport at CP was only so so.

9. And anything else you might want to add.
I have added 25 new credits to my ride count.
I am looking forward to 2010! I will ride HRRR sooner or later. I will be going to Ohio in June, so I will get returns to KI and CP. Diamondback and Maverick will be new credits. (I do that often; I ride on big new coasters a year or so after they open.) I have planned another trip to Missouri and Arkansas for August.

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season?
IEh, i don't set goals on coastercounts. even though i was planned to have 40+ i ended up with 42. :D yay.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?
Top Thrill Dragster, i don't care... it's my No.1 right now. it's just so fun. the launch is exhilerating. wow. i didn't expect something like that. It's my personal Tallest & Fastest.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?
Diamondback, nice. Love It. Sexy. Geez, that's all i have to say... did i mention, First B&M Hyper?

How many and/or which parks did you visit?
Cedar Point x4, WDW, Islands Of Adventure, Coney Island, Dorney Park, Knott's Berry Farm, HersheyPark, Kings Island

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?
Top Thrill Dragster, August 1st, 2009. Oh man, that was fun. xD
1st time, we lost my friend, was to caught up in the launch.. (first-timer)
2nd time, (friend, didn't wanna ride it. chicken. :p)

What was the biggest surprise of the year?
Top Thrill Dragster, it was my first time this year, after 6 years of waiting to ride it. geez, i didn't expect it.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?
Diamondback. I love it.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?
Demon Drop, Leaving to Knott's *sigh* it dosen't look right on Knott's Skyline.

Re: A Reflection On The 2009 Season - Yes, it's that time ag

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season?

I didn't really set one, I just wanted to go on the new Florida coasters, which I did.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?

Manta, by far. I even think it's my number one.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?

Yes, Manta and HRRR.

How many and/or which parks did you visit?

4.

BGA x ?
Sea World x 1
USF x 1
IoA x 1

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?

Riding Manta with a whole group of my friends, as some of them didn't want to ride and were waiting under the lift hill, and then they saw us and waved and shouted and stuff. Just really fun.

What was the biggest surprise of the year?

Going to USF for Rock the Universe and riding HRRR, as it was kind of a last minute thing and my parents were like, "sure," when I asked on an impulse.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?

For parks I went to, I'd say Manta, as Sea World is now worth the admisson price.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?

Only being able to go on Manta once.

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season (can't find that topic at the moment)?
Didn't really have a goal, was nice to break 100 though

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?
Colossos without a shadow of a doubt.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?
Yeah! Mumbo Jumbo, FVN, Was Lynet 2009 too?, Maybe more I don't know though lol (oops oh yeah Saw lol)

How many and/or which parks did you visit?
Flamingo Land, Lightwater Valley, Thorpe Park, All the ones on Euro Live which I don't remember the name of lol

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?
Definitely the unexpected champagne and Colossos ride in Heide Park, awesome stuff!

What was the biggest surprise of the year?
FVN, I hadn't followed the construction topic or watched any POV's before we went, so I didn't even know it had a launch! LOL! Awesome ride.

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?
I'd be biased and say Mumbo Jumbo if the throughput weren't so terrible. They've got Velocity, a 16 seat 1 train coaster, and go and get a four seat 5 car coaster (often operating 3 or 4 cars).
FVN was definitely the best new addition I've rode this year, but as much as I hate to say it, SAW has provided the most hype and biggest reaction, so you'd have to say SAW.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?
Daemonen. Was. Dreadful.

Did you reach the coaster count goal that you set at the beginning of the season (can't find that topic at the moment)?
I don't care about my coaster count. yes, I like to keep total but I've stopped caring about obsessively trying to increase it. If there's a chance for me to travel and grab a few new rides on the way, great, but I don't set my targets, I take them as they come.

What was the best new-for-you coaster you rode this year?
Fluch Von Novgorod at Hansa. I didn't follow construction when I read the press release explaining it's awesomeness. I wanted to be surprised.

Usually I expect press releases to full of corporate bull**** and really over-egging a ride, but this one was post on...and the ride isn't finished yet!

Will certainly head back to ride it again when it's fully themed.

Did you ride a coaster that opened in 2009?
Yes. Anubis, Saw, Mumbo Jumbo and everything on the Denmany trip that opened this year. :p

How many and/or which parks did you visit?
Urgh, I dunno, I don't keep count. The ones on the Denmany trip, most of the recognised UK ones and Plopsaland in Belge.

What was your favorite moment of the 2009 season?
A glowtsick-lit pirate ship of CFer's shouting COASTER-FORCE always gets me going.

Lives. All of them (excluding the USA one).

Norway with Vadge, Ben and Jake - for creds and cultch.

Isle of w00t.

But the best highlight was Denmany. Awesome trip with awesome people! (apart from Steven.)

What was the biggest surprise of the year?
Not once losing my rag on the Denmany trip. Spending 5 days in the company of coaster geeks isn't high on my list of things to do I have to say, but it flowed well and I didn't feel tired one! And it was goon-free! (Apart from Steven.)

Ride wise, Anubis. Although FvN is my fave ride of the year, I just knew it would be good. I expected Anubis to be pretty meh, but I loved it!

What was the best addition to a park in 2009?
Tough one. I may get back to that, although my gut reaction says Saw: The Ride.

What was the biggest disappointment of 2009?
Steven going on the Denmany trip.
