A bit late but this happened yesterday.

From my local newpaper:

El Nuevo Dia said:

FULL ARTICLE

This news article basically says info on the ride and that the incident happened around 10:00 pm on Saturday 7/26/2014. The cause of the injuries, according to Cedar Point's spokesman Bryan Edwards, was a cable that got loose while the ride was in motion. One of the injured had to go to the hospital while the other was treated on the scene. Skyhawk still remains closed.

Here's an article written on it in English. ;)

An accident on a ride at Cedar Point late Saturday sent one visitor to a local hospital for evaluation. A second injured guest was treated at the scene, according to the park.

At about 10 p.m. Saturday, a cable on the ride Skyhawk disconnected from one of the ride's two carriages and came in contact with two park guests, according to park spokesman Bryan Edwards.

It's not known whether the injured guests were on the ride – which features two giant arms that swing up to 125 feet in the air – or on the ground. The condition of the hospitalized rider was not immediately available.

Edwards said the ride was immediately shut down after the accident.

"Safety is our top priority at Cedar Point," he said in a statement. "Skyhawk will remain closed until our investigation is complete and the ride can safely reopen."

This is not the first time that Skyhawk, new in 2006, has been shuttered. The ride was closed for several weeks last year as the park dealt with repeated mechanical problems and waited for replacement parts, according to news reports.

A scary incident to be sure. Hope that CP can get to the root of the problem, as Skyhawk is a very enjoyable ride. Sad that it has already seen massive down time these last two season due to needed parts for maintenance.

Just out of interest, does anyone know if the other Screamin Swings have been closed down in the meantime?

^I was at Lake Compounce today and in fact Thunder 'n' Lightning was down but for maintenance. They did however open it back up in the afternoon, but only one swing (never seen it operate with both swings).

Word on the street is repairs are being done with a reinstall of the cables.

All the cables are down, with the one from the incident no longer there Im guessing.

I had only heard a S&S rep was on site this weekend.
