5' isn’t especially deep, however the overall spec for footings would be determined by a structural engineer and would be based on the geological makeup of the ground and it would be site specific. So a coaster having a certain deep footer at one park may need deeper footers or a different...

Mahuka footers are the same as the Gerstlauer method for lower tolerances. I have pinched a photo from the Mahuka construction thread.

I’m hoping the concept for the possible Intamin / Mack launch coaster (Back to the Future) is going to be an extreme spinner or the trains like on the new Fast & Furious Intamin going in at Universal Hollywood; as there is far too much backwards going on there for my liking…

This is looking incredible and it’s great to see it testing. Hopefully an opening date will be announced as a few of us have a trip booked at the end of April and it would be a shame to miss out on this.

These hold the support in place while they are assembling the structure and then concrete is poured to permanently secure them. Once the concrete has set, these temporary steels get removed. This method of construction allows for lower tolerances in the groundwork stage.

I’m still in awe with the scale of this place. The tilt coaster is looking pretty fab!

@Nicky Borrill - I would complete agree with your statement. I didn’t want to get too far down the rabbit hole of wages as ultimately the huge increase in minimum wag also pushes wages up for the rest of the staff; as these have been down valued by such a huge increase. Increases in wages also...
