We've been here before, haven't we?
I've never been and I'd be disappointed to not ride Knightmare in particular. So if this is it I hope the coasters get a move (down south). Incidentally I drove past it on the M6 today on my way back from Blackpool. I don't usually think about Camelot, but...
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
They've obviously looked at Thirteen and thought to themselves: "What a fantastic success that was! It didn't have any teething problems at all... What other extremely complex mechanism could we install onto an otherwise perfectly good...
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
I'm thinking that it's some kind of brain washing or mind control theme, It'd work well in X Sector. The eyes are kind of hypnotising and creepy. Expect a load of visual illusions in the queue.
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
^ You can be sure that it'll be the most terrifying experience ever... like everything they've made so far.
He scaled a fence to get in? Surely, if you intend to die you don't mind spending a bit of money to do it. It's no use to you where you're going. I guess he might not have any money, it could be one of the reasons he's up there... but then you're not going to have to pay the overdraft charge...
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
They might re-fit them or even theme them if we're lucky, but the building will stay. It make sense really, moving toilets isn't as easy as some other buildings due to the amount of plumbing needed to be done and new channels to sewers etc.
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
Giving this post the attention it deserves! heheh.
So... Nearly 100 pages of pre/de-construction topic. Let the construction topic begin!
I'm gonna jump on the "it's ugly" bandwagon, they should have themed it to Steam Punk, would have worked a treat mock Victorian! The speed off the top and curve of it look great though!
They've obviously done it like that to have only 2 supports. My question is, and the answer may well be...
Re: Etnaland Theme Park - Sicily - 2013
Hefema Rides are building a flume for Etnaland. They makes some great stuff.

Re: Toverland | "Unknown" | Mack Spinner
I just got back from Toverland.
This is being advertised on their map-book thingy for opening at the end of 2012. There was no obvious sign of construction in the park however. Some cleared land that currently was holding wood ready for what looked like...
Re: Heide Park 2014
The board says it'll be Germany's first. I think that is telling. Likely it's something we already have in Europe, or they would have said Europe's first. Potential Wingrider?
I'm sure someone can think of another big and fast coaster type that already exists Europe but not...
My favourite theme park music is Europa Park. You can listen to whole albums of it on Spotify (not that I actually have...). The trend is continuing as the music on the Wodan videos is also fantastic.
Special mention for Air, like that one too.
I like it inside the station. I also think it'll look better when it dirties up a bit, that'll happen pretty quickly.
The one thing that does bug me is having "THORPE PARK" spray-painted on the first car. If it is an alien/mutant being that is destroying the world, would it have that?
(having...
I think the bending you're seeing is the shape of the back of the wing. It has an angle in it and in the screenshot above does look like a bend. They might have dug down a bit? Is there more leg room there?
I agree. I guess they don't want to go into that last turn at any speed and they might have felt they didn't have the space to put something in that could be taken straight after the inline? Still, I think I would have preferred it to turn first and brake nearer the station.
Re: New "world-first" coaster at Alton Towers 2013
^ All loops are beyond vertical. It's the non-beyond-vertical loops you can't fathom... which I'll assume are helices.
Now, how mean have we become to new members for this guy* to disclaimer his* post like that?! A fast lift/launch is...
I think it looks pretty good, gliding well at the moment and it'll likely get faster than that. We always new the layout would be short and first tests always seem slow, no surprises here for me whatsoever. I'm still looking forward to riding it.
