Re: "Shambhala", B&M Hyper, Port Aventura 2012
I've got to hand it to the Spanish coaster communities, their on-ride photography skills are great. They should get an award or something for dedication to the art.
I can see where Nic, and others, are coming from. But just think that this will be...
Re: New "world's first" coaster at Alton Towers 2013
You see I thought you were being 100% sarcastic and having a laugh, until you said this:
Bad face-palm moment, my friend.
As for the subject in hand; I believe there's a pretty good chance of AT continuing down the world's first route in...
Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012
Track work is complete!
It'd be great to see a picture of the inline complete. No Swiss or British flags?
Well, if that doesn't deserve a fish, I don't know what does! :)
They're not THAT old, mid to late 60s? I don't wish to start a debate on it. I also risk repeating what Furie was saying many many posts ago. Your situations are incomparable. Farley minus the towers would be pin-drop quiet...
Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012
I wouldn't have taken offence, not my style, but I appreciate the prefix anyway. Disagreement is fine and in this case you've changed my mind. I scooted back a few pages to see the pictures of it and I can now see the angle it's taken from makes...
Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012
^They're currently at a conference event, IAAPA. They've been showing the under-train lighting for at least a year. It was linked to when some CFs were at an event sometime ago..
Although it could be on the Europa Park woodie, I don't think that the...
I'm positive that they can hear it and clearly. I'm also sure that it'd be very annoying. I'm just not sure that they can possibly achieve what they seem to want to achieve, but I think they're aiming high to get anything at all. Realistically, I think they can achieve a situation where volume...
Although I'm doubtful that Guiness will back the blindfold thing, if you're serious you should ask Blackpool as they've held many of these records before and Southend, as they seem to like these things too. They have the naked record and something to do with a large portion of chips. The green...
Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012
Erm.... right.
So, as track work seems nearly complete, what's a usual time gap between completion and testing? Do they normally go straight away or does it take time to get the trains in and going?
Should have offered them a night in the Alton Towers Hotel.
Appologies for asking about the exact location of their house. It was slightly thoughtless of me, I don't wish to encourage any antisocial acts against them or get CF in trouble. I was curious to see if they were significantly...
Out of interest, does anyone know which is their exact house? Earlier people said it's the nearest house to Oblivion except the B&B (and staff break room). So is it this one? http://g.co/maps/c3v7a
So are we discussing the subject in hand or trying to out mod each other?
I agree with Gavin on his two choices, It'd be great to see more airtime in this country. But to add to the topic I'd love to see a floorless here. Perhaps Swarm will provide a similar thrill, but I really do love the...
Great idea! To save myself a lot of money I fully intend to Street View around the big American parks I cannot afford to go to. I'll navigate up to a ride entrance, go stand in my garden for 40 minutes and then come back to watch the POV on YouTube... I might even rock around in my chair for...
Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012
Yes it does. Looking at the photos above the first one is permanent and the second one has moving parts. So it's a just-in-case thing?
Boarder control into the USA?
Coaster wise I gotta go for Thirteen... I didn't even get there in the end! Ended in a complete break down after many little ones. I did moan some fast tracks out of the park for the next day however, so there was a slight plus.
I voted for Stealth as it still gives me a rush. I would have voted for Inferno, and I think it's probably the better ride, but I think I've ridden it too much. It was better when I came back to it after a year not going to Thorpe, but still, it's not got the kick to it.
Re: "Wild Eagle" - B&M Wingrider for Dollywood 2012
I'm really loving the look of this ride. From watching the videos I think this would be my favourite of the wingriders so far. Although the Thorpe Park Inversion may become a signature of this ride type, I really like the look of this layout...
I agree with CoasterCrazy and Colossus, above. The ride types you're talking about slowly get sold on and filter down the hierarchy of parks until they fall apart...
A B&M invert has even been moved on recently (see Walygator Parq), although it seems unlikely that custom signature coasters will...
