The only worthy successor would be another S&S launch coaster but modern in my opinion, but I get why they'd not want to do that, S&S reliability is so bad.
Makes me very sad, such an iconic ride, the layout and those tunnels really give me early 2000's vibes. The station screens were so cool and the music/atmosphere with this thing were unmatched. Loved riding the ferris wheel and seeing that thing stretched out across the park.
Part of me was...
Not that i'm going to visit around opening day, but I have a feeling this ride is going to be a bit of a building site still when it does open.
The ride experience itself should be fantastic though, excited to hear peoples feedback on it.
I'm hoping to go to Tokyo again later this year, in December absolutely dreading trying to get into this new area and riding the rides.
Tempting to just pretend they dont exist and enjoy the rest of the park.
I find most enthusiasts in the UK are very easily pleased/excited. They see the bare minimum of maintanance being done and see it as some huge turning point. People were going mad saying how perfect Alton Towers was when Nemesis came back - meanwhile from the Nemesis Reborn queue you could see a...
It is interesting how Merlins construction stuff is done sometimes. A spray painted part like that isn't gonna hold up and will end up rusting in our climate. Needs to be powder coated.
Same with the Nemesis Reborn queue where loads of the fencing was badly thought out, and some sections on...
As always I think Alton has the most potential. It's just such a stunning location and if they can add some more indoor dark rides/coasters and get it properly tidied up it'll be a great theme park again.
That's annoying then! There was two of us at the back and probably 6 other people on the front of the train but the staff just kept the airgates open and wandered about for ages before deciding to close the airgates, put the rest of the restraints down and dispatch.
That doesnt surprise me :(
Visited Flamingo Land at the weekend and have to say it feels really neglected.
Sik was walk on except they would lock you into the restraints and then you'd be sat there locked in for 10 minutes before enough people were on the train for them to send it.The rear couple air gates were not...
Yeah I get the feeling you're right on that - although I think The Ultimate did a lot of good for the park, but probably not enough to counteract the cost of it!
I think The Ultimate was initially a fairly cheap project that then escalated into a bit of a nightmare for them to get fully finished...
