Thanks for posting those pics Sue as they bought back memories for me! - The Magic Mill was quite a funny ride especially the part where it wen through an enclosed section and had frogs singing the frog chorus! :D
I went to Flamingoland for the first time recently and I really enjoyed myself - but I can see where you're coming from.
I think it probably needs another big coaster like Kumali in order to tempt more people or a couple of thrilling flat rides.
Indeed, as whoever's operating it can either give you a really great ride or a not so good one! A bit like when I went on Top Buzz 2 at Hull Fair a year or so ago. I had several goes on it and one wasn't particularly good, whereas, a later go I had was a lot longer and fantastic :D
I haven't been on The Beast yet but it's next on my list :D
I've also heard good reports about it so hopefully I'll make a trip up to Skegness at some point!
Personally, I'm not a fan of Slammer - I'm a Topscan fangirl :D
That's why my favourite flat ride at a theme park in the uk is Whirlwind at LWV - it was fantastic on opening day and a great addition to the park.
Although Speed Wave at Flamingo Park in Hastings comes very close too :D
I'd agree with you about Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster - I loved it and it's definitely one of my favourites.
My other faves, in no particular order:
Space Mountain - Disney Florida
Revenge of the Mummy - Universal Florida
Eurosat - Europa Park
Rock N Rollercoaster (Florida)
Not sure...
These are the oldest coasters I've been on:
1. Scenic Railway - Luna Park Melbourne 1912 - really loved this and would like to go back on it again one day.
2. Big Dipper Blackpool 1923 - Despire others not liking it, I actually enjoyed it :D
Lucy - my name and username on CF
Luce - Username on other theme park forums and a kind of nickname used by colleagues and friends which I like :D
That's it folks! :D
I'd love to go on that - as I've been on an older style Capriolo and it's one of the most intense rides I've been on. It would be interesting to compare them as well :D
What was your favourite moment of the 2010 season?
Has to be going to Florida for the first time - simply awesome.
What was the biggest surprise of the year?
Not sure - maybe at how amazing Harry Potter & The Forbidden Journey is.
What was the best addition to a park in 2010...
My favourite was Islands of Adventure - really immersive park and also home to the best dark ride I've ever been on :D
Although I also loved the others but in different ways :D
