Agreed. It's a superb show.
An American remake produced by Amazon has recently finished filming. Even more than most film or TV remakes, it's seriously difficult to imagine how they can match the quality of the original.
I've just been catching up with this (and it is indeed hilarious). I reckon one of the writers might be a bit of a goon - in a subsequent episode there's a reference to "the mouse ride at Morey's Piers".
To be fair, the likes of Germany and Denmark have closed their borders to everyone, not just UK citizens. We're not the pariah of Europe quite yet.
In any case, UK citizens have effectively been banned from travelling anywhere abroad by the government. Until the "avoid all but essential travel"...
I couldn't believe how awful the famed Dollywood cinnamon bread was. Like a giant greasy doughnut with way too much sugar and nowhere near enough cinnamon. The two of us ate about a quarter and binned the rest.
Are you seriously suggesting that Orion's design isn't as exciting as it could be because the company didn't want to have competition for a park that's <looks it up> nearly eight hours drive away?
That's the feeling I frequently got too - that they decided on the one-take thing first then hung a few vignettes on it to vaguely resemble a plot.
Which leads to some ridiculous moments, probably the most egregious being
A better big-screen experience than Birdman? No question.
It did have...
1917 then.
Not much plot to this and what little plot there is frequently doesn't make a lick of sense. It strains credulity to breaking point at times. The German soldiers are about as good as aiming their weapons as the average stormtrooper, for instance. It also presents a strangely...
Fair enough. You seem convinced that Wildfire's lower showing this year is down to voters who've made multiple trips and noticed that it's now slower.
It's fine, I guess, if you like zoos. But until Wildfire made it a goon's must-do destination, it was just that - a zoo. If you're suggesting...
Not convinced. "Scandinavia" is a big area and Kolmården is a two hour drive from the nearest large city.
Not convinced by this either. I'd suggest the odds of any of those 23 voters having made multiple trips to Kolmården are slim.
It's a strange one. But given the remoteness of Wildfire, I kinda doubt anyone who voted has re-ridden it, never mind in sufficient numbers to affect its position in the poll.
Not a fan either. People rave about how smooth it is but I found it to have an irritating low-level vibration going on...
Just booked tickets for a Sunday morning screening so I guess I'll find out shortly!
I reckon you're being a bit harsh on the edits in Birdman though. The panning up to the sky "cheat" only happens on two occasions and in both cases it's to mark the passage of time (the location doesn't...
Indonesia has two of the world's three remaining wooden wild mouses. Which is just plain greedy.
ETA: Just looked it up and apparently there's a couple in the States I wasn't aware of. So ignore that.
Last night I happened upon Clive James - Postcard From Sydney from 1995 which features a visit to the then-abandoned Luna Park. Includes a couple of shots of the Big Dipper coaster which was relocated to Dreamworld.
Starts at the 22m mark.
It's on iPlayer here and if you can't access that...
