What is your favourite coaster that you’ve only ridden once?

I had a really easy answer to this up until about a month ago - Kingda Ka. I had one ride on it in 2014 and it went straight into the Top 10. It was epic! It was also my 'Best Ever Non-Spite'. Officially the ride was unavailable because Zumanjaro was still under construction at the time, but for...

Jersey Devil. Slightly disappointed by this one to be honest. I'd ridden Railblazer about 5 years ago and loved it - shockingly good coaster that is - so I had high hopes for a longer, taller, faster version. Sadly, the main thing I took away from Jersey Devil was how rattley it was. Wouldn't...

Six Flags America's coasters. They're sh*te. Pretty much all of them. Utter sh*te. There is literally nothing at this park worth the time and effort involved in coming here. Easily the dumpiest of the Six Flags parks I've been to. Flat, soulless, run down in many places, lots of tarmac, lots of...

Kent, England | The London Resort | Entertainment Complex

Even in it's final breaths - like the croaking, last-gasp, death-rattle of some slain mythical beast - in one final act of defiance this bloody project spits out the words "I could have been the UK's answer to Disneyland" One. Last. Time...

Yeah, I wish I could have ridden Skyrush in it's prime. I had the opportunity to come here 10 years ago when it was the newest coaster in the park, looked awesome it did, but I ditched it in favour of KD, BGW etc.. Shoulda done it when I had the chance. 😪

^ Indeed, Sir, Wildcat's Revenge is absolutely an overall Top 10 candidate. For me at least, maybe even a Top 5. I knew after 1 back row ride that I liked it more than Iron Gwazi. Straight away that puts it in the premier league. I dunno... I guess when it comes to ranking new gen, top tier...

Fair comments, I rode all 3 of those coasters last week. Gosh, Six Flags America is a bit of a dump, isn't it? 🙄 I'll review those rides myself shortly, but first....  Phoenix. Absolutely fantastic! A 10/10 ride without a shadow of a doubt, it's repeated recognition as 'the world's best...

Gonna be spamming this thread a lot over the coming days. Just got back from America see, with 77 new creds under my belt and man oh man, some of them are reeeeaaalllyy good. Don't panic, I'm not gonna review 'em all, but I'll try and cover the newest and most notable ones. Starting with Dorney...

UK General Election 4th July 2024

Well for what it's worth, many of the questions I have revolve around that very theme - these so called 'solutions' being offered forced upon us, and more specifically who benefits from them. But I agree, that would be a fascinating discussion to have over a few beers. Or in a queueline... 😉

UK General Election 4th July 2024

No idea yet who I'm going to vote for, but I can definitely tell you who I won't be voting for, and that's Conservative or Labour. Two cheeks of the same arse as far as I'm concerned. Neither will I be voting Green. I have major questions about the current green agenda and all this net zero...

    Your B&M Count

A bumper haul of 14 thanks to the uber-successful 'Murica '24 trip. Total now standing at 76, or 14.5% of my total. I think that makes B&M my most ridden manufacturer. Some argue that B&M's can be a bit mild, safe, predictable and even boring, but I'm having none of it. This trip has only...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

Yikes, that's not good. Seeing as it was operating seemingly quite well until after 10pm last night, one can only assume that overnight inspections have uncovered a potential issue. Hope we're not looking at another TT2 here. 😬

Coasters that gave you the biggest sense of "danger"

As I was writing that post, I thought to myself "Man, if Jerry reads this, he ain't gonna be happy!" Wasn't it your actual number 1 coaster at one point? I'm sure I remember seeing it at the top of your list once.

Coasters that gave you the biggest sense of "danger"

As has been mentioned - Blackpool's Wild Mouse. You know that high speed bend that came out over the pathway? The one where the inner wheels lifted off the track cos there were no upstop wheels, just that piddling little T-bar in a guide rail? Yeah... that. Makes me shudder just thinking about...

    Cedar Point | Top Thrill 2 | Triple Launch Renovation | 2024

It turns out then that an Italian manufacturer best known for vommy flat rides and the Volare, aren't up to the task of renovating an iconic, Swiss engineered, 420ft, 120mph, world record breaking launch coaster after all. Wellllll sh*t. In other news, water wet, sky blue and fire a bit on the...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

On the subject of our Jack, in his latest construction update we learn that, although the ride doesn't have onboard audio, it will have dispatch audio as you exit the station and lift hill audio as you climb to the top. I didn't know this until now. Sweet! It's hard to make out in the video, but...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

I kinda love it! A bit cheesy, but the imagery of the three characters 'finding their wings' is a nice touch, and the final shot of the Hyperia silhouette gives me chills. I approve. 👏👏👏

    "Now Showing"

The Fall Guy Not bad actually, pretty enjoyable overall. Wouldn't call it amazing, it's not a 'must watch', but I can't think of anything specifically wrong with it, it's just an entertaining popcorn movie to pass away a couple of hours on a Sunday. Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt work well...
