WIENER PRATER and FANTASIANA
Did these on two different days, a couple of days apart.
I’m staying at a hotel right at Prater, which makes it easy to enjoy the park’s late hours and then stroll home.
Prater’s real stars are twofold: 1. The general atmosphere is festive and you get a sense...
I’m old enough that
A. I’m a curmudgeon about almost all IP-based theming, and I’d much rather see theming that is original to the park (or in the case of Disney, that park company’s creations).
B. If there must be an IP-based theme, I’d love a ride or area themed to my generation’s Harry...
Well, I tried. :p My German was inadequate and my English was not understood, so I had to ask several times, adding to the humiliation, and then when he finally understood he said no. And as I type this I’m realizing that “Do you really want to hurt me?” is playing over the tannoy. :D So...
Aw. They let me ride the coaster called Race and that’s about as kiddie as it gets. I believe you, but I’m going to try anyway, just because I like a little humiliation.
Now that I know where to look, and now that it’s light outside, I’ve gone to the rooftop restaurant of my parkside hotel for...
Hello, folks. This afternoon and evening I was at Wiener Prater and I knocked out 14 of the 15 current coasters. However, I couldn’t find one called Auto BergBahn. (By the photos on rcdb I’m not sure I’d call it a coaster, but coaster-count does.) There are no park maps anywhere, and since all...
KRAKOW
So I got a surprise ride on what will surely be the rarest credit of the trip, a traveling dragon. The experience was hilarious. See the explanation in the Q&A forum thread about a Polish cred.
OK, that was hilarious. The woman in the ticket booth explained to me why I couldn’t ride, and I asked how likely it was that someone else would come along in the remaining half hour and pay for the little coaster next to the giant Ferris wheel that everyone was riding. She shook her head and...
Well, I walked over after dinner, and we have a positive ID:
However, while it’s open for another half hour, it requires two people to go, and I’m here solo! The tragedy of it all.
I started to look on coaster-count under showmen, but didn’t have time to be as thorough as you were. And I am sorry to have misled you as I was driven by quickly and the thing that stuck in my brain was a big sign that says “Wild Mouse,” and I assumed it must be a wild mouse coaster. But I was...
I’m here in Krakow, and right in the center of town on the bank of the Vistula River there is the Krakow Eye, a large ferris wheel. Well, I just drove by and saw there is a wild mouse coaster (apparently called Wild Mouse) next to it. Anyone know what this is or how to find out? Is it somewhere...
ENERGYLANDIA — Day Three; ZATORLAND
A third day I never thought I’d have at Energylandia, and it was really a day in which I felt I’d already done everything at the park, and was really just soaking up the atmosphere at this point. I tried new places to eat, got in another ride on Abyssus and a...
ENERGYLANDIA — Day Two
I lied. I said I wouldn’t mention my Auschwitz experience on here, but I will. Sort of. I start summoning an Uber two hours before I was supposed to be there this morning, but while the app was connected, it couldn’t find a driver in all that time. The drawback of living...
Well, I’m pleased that I got in my first and only good ride on this in the back row a few months ago. It has served me, and now it may depart.
Or transform.
That would be great if you could make it to PortAventura. I’ll be doing that leg solo, and I’m staying at a park hotel, and, assuming this is possible (?), you could stay with me. Let me know if that get more serious, and I’ll give you more details.
Heh, no — no cameo. I have no need to get on camera. 😝
But good luck with sorting your trip out! If you make it, let me know if you have any questions for me as a very recent visitor to the park. And check out my lodgings recommendation above.
I often skip drop towers — a bit of fear, a bit of indifference — and so I’ve never done the big, well-known drop towers at the two parks that have been home parks over the years: Lex Luther: Drop of Doom at Magic Mountain and Zumanjaro at SFGAdv.
