By reinforcing the Nemesis brand is actually makes LESS sense to remove it from Nemesis Inferno. Although a logo revamp so that they are still aligned would be very welcome.
If they want to lean into that they shoulda done metal fencing, I dunno, this just feels like fencing you put behind the scenes, not in the queue.
Anyway, we have spikes! (coutersy of TowersStreet) Looks like they run along the legs, which is pretty cool actually. a Choice I approve of...
Yeah I thought that... but the fence on the other side of that queue doesn't go into a ride area and its still a 6ft prison fence. I've seen the same from aerial shots (that I can't seem to find). Non of the old wooden fencing is there anymore , which is understandable coz it was old, but I...
Using old vehicles is a bit of a pet peeve of mine with Merlin theming, they have one for almost every attraction. Nemesis already has the bus and the Sub-Terra tank thing. I know they get ripped for the shipping containers but the vehicles are worse imo.
I am holding out for Nemesis (Reborn)...
That looks horrible though. And I think "locking" the type to the background symbol causes a lot of issues when you want a flexible identity. My favourite park logos are mainly just type with a splash of personality (Toverland, Liseberg, Efteling, Phantasialand etc etc) and this is no different...
It's definitely NOT a downgrade. I'm actually wondering if anyone has actually seen the old Thorpe Park logo... it's genuinely awful and looked incredibly dated years ago, plus the type face was hideous. I wonder how they got away with it for so long.
That said though, this logo does look a...
Gonna have to 100% agree here. Riding it during Fright Nites it was absolutely flying and so so smooth. The forces are punchy as hell (the loop is way more powerful than Nemesis’). It’s so well paced and the theme is really cool. I couldn’t get enough of it. Was surprised really as I never...
Yeah actually I read somewhere the name was going to be Ikarus and that made me rethink the concept abit to be more of a dive. "Flying too close to the sun" and then diving back down to earth in interesting ways. Each one of the "dives" is different.
As long as they're not tedious I don't mind. Batman: Gotham City Escapes is a prime example of a bad one, you're stuck in a big room and theres loads of dialogue and like no special effects. If you're gonna do a preshow, fill the room with stuff to look at.
Wickerman is probably my favourite...
Or it's all meaningless marketing terms INVENTED by Cedar Point. They literally just invented new categories just so they could shout about Magnum, MF and TTD. I find it funny when people argue over these things when they're not even recognised terms by the manufactures that make them. (For...
So I managed to ride it this week! Whoop
I have to say straight off I'm very impressed with this coaster and it does a lot of things that excite me that I think don't come across in the off rides, although I do have a couple niggles.
First off the first launch has an almighty kick which is a...
The industry isn't as school-yard as all that. I'm pretty sure this will be a cost, availability and best proposal situation.
You also see people be like "INSERT PARK would never work with INSERT MANUFACTURER" all the time and the next year they go build one lol, remember when "Cedar Point will...
The Smiler did play a part in SubTerra as it became clear it was easy for smaller guests to remove themselves from the restraints before the drop which prompted a restraint redesign, but even then the directors and operators felt uncomfortable running the ride after the crash.
The Flume...
I was upset by the plain black track as it's such an over done scheme especially in the UK and ESPECIALLY in Alton Towers. I was baffled by the lack of creativity when the original bone and rusted track was so iconic.
So I'm super excited to see they're doing something new, creative and...
I've had this milling around since I saw Pipeline's announcement. I wasn't sure I GOT what B&M were doing with their surf coaster, but once I saw the trains I think I understand now and I think it's a really exciting new model. Obviously as I usually do when I get excited about a new B&M, I went...
Quick update, decided to theme the ride to Puffins. They're cute and which suits the style of ride...but also they live on cliffs.
I had this idea after looking at The Strat rides and Glenwood Caverns. It's great having a family aimed coaster with low forces (I've always wanted to design one)...
