Having to give back my macbook pro has meant I've lost all ability to use NL2. However I can play around with FVD++ on my new work laptop, and when I have access to a decent computer I hope to start designing again. For now I've just been working on this terrained (I have the terrain in my head)...
Something about it doesn't really inspire me and some of the elements, especially that helix, are really bizarrely (ugly) shaped. It reminds me of a first draft FVD++ layout that needs refinement.
BUT I do like how large some of the elements are, which will add to the feeling of flying. But...
I know my post was a little bit of a joke. But removing such an iconic coaster and creating so much space to build a new record breaking launch coaster does kind of point towards something big. I would love it if they went and took Falcon Flights technology to go and steal back the height...
I remember back in the day I was obsessed with Air, which made me an enthusiast. But it took a lot to actually brave the ride, I wasn't much of a thrill seeker but I loved the engineering and theater. I didn't even ride Nemesis or Oblivion till a couple years later.
I'd ride most things now...
Yeah it's interesting, MACK have been accused of having segments of their rides that kind of meander and eat up the speed, creating some weird pacing. Perfect examples of this are DC Rivals and Icon. Hyperia is a great move into distilling the layout into a no-filler/all killer style, I would...
I watched a nighttime POV and I think it looks fantastic. Princess and the Frog is really underrated and the songs are amazing. The softer atmosphere looks really pleasant. The animatronics look so well animated too.
I dunno, I have no nostalgia on splash mountain but I think this looks...
Ok so the outerbank and stall loop look slow which makes sense as the trains first ride will have alot of friction, we expected that.
HOWEVER
The Immelman is is taken as a crazy speed! the banking transition is whippy af already and it flys out of it! Really expected to see it running properly.
I'm currently doing a project about ride availability and throughputs and I thought I'd reach out to see what the general consensus is with which parks deliver the best results and what procedures and systems that are in place work the best.
But also what areas cause bad throughputs and...
I wouldn't have minded as much if that wasn't the X-Sector colour pallet. It's abit annoying to see Merlin once again go "edgy = black".
This also feels like a rehash of The Swarm, where all the theming elements are vehicles. At least there are tentacles on the rocks! Are they new?
Ripsaw Reborn lol
I do welcome this, but I really hope Alton takes some notes from Talocan, it's so popular on social media, and with the right effects will be filmed alot by onlookers. I was joking about a Ripsaw Reborn, but that kind of approach could work pretty well here.
Would love a big...
Selkie by Richard Lerwill
Background-
Selkie is a Celtic Mermaid that takes the form of a seal in the water and a beautiful woman on land. If their seal skin is stolen they cannot return to the water and forever stuck on the shore. Take a ride with the Selkie as it finds it's skin and returns...
I've been majorly stuck in a rut recently with design, trying to follow the real life coaster trends of big dueling mack coasters, multi launches, RMCs, B&M family/surf coasters. But it all lead me to hit a wall and loose interest. I realised I needed to just take a step back and find...
