New attractions at Paultons Park

I was actually thinking of a Zamperla Big WaveZ, funnily enough! It would fit into the area inhabited by Raging River, could reuse the basin (explaining why it was repainted, potentially), and would also fill the water ride void left by Raging River (somewhat) while awaiting a (rumoured) water coaster or other large water ride in 2027! Paultons also have a strong pre-existing relationship with Zamperla on the flat ride front having built both Cyclonator and The Edge, and it would fit the criterion of being a UK first!I
That would be amazing if a Big Wavez actually opens somewhere in the UK 🤩

It has been leaked! No images, but we know the names of the rides, some details of the coaster, and an accompanying flat ride.

Dam was not expecting a Gerst, to be fair it just says vertical lift and Intamin do make vertical lift and launch coasters so mabey 😅

If it is a Gerstlauer Eurofighter i hope it will be a lap bar only version, two inversions is decent at least. The Art swing should be fun (they make vertical lift coasters 🤔) and yes a wet ride for 2027 so a water coaster looks to be next.

Super excited for the superfan day this evening for more details but what sounds like back to back coaster years is super impressive.

Lawrence will be devastated that article went out…

I think we were all close in some capacity 😭

But then again, I am still very happy for Paultons, seems like the perfect addition for them! Next question is, is the Mack Watercoaster gonna be be a Powersplash?

Still looking forward to seeing the concept art. Makes sense it’s a Geurstlauer, as Cobra will need renovating and supports changing, financially it’s a good starter thrill ride, plus the footers did suggest this. I’m still hoping for an Infinity, lap bars and a rolling launch as well as the lift hill!

Articles already been taken down. I imagine someone at The Mirror is getting a bollocking for breaking the embargo 😅

God I hope Gerst have done something weird and it's not a clone of something like Vindflad 🤞

Well I knew it would be a Gerstlauer all along ha ha.
Nothing on RCDB yet but I would assume the Paultons page would be updated soon though. In all seriousness, Gerstlauer does do lapbars on some Eurofighters so I hope this is the case. But just be greatfull that we have a coaster with 2 Inversions coming to the park.
Edit: it will be the parks 8th coaster! Which will tie in with Thorpe Park & Flamingo Lands amount of coasters and by 2027 (with the Mack Water coaster) is going to be their 9th coaster which means it will be the top 3 UK theme park with more coasters than Thorpe & Flamingo Land.

That sounds very, very Gerstlauer to me, if it’s true… I hope it’s an Infinity Coaster, but it does sound very Euro-Fighter like.

I’ll, rightly or wrongly, be a little bit disappointed if it’s a Euro-Fighter, truth be told. Maybe this is just me being unfairly picky, but there have already been 3 in Britain, and I’m not sure what new ground Paultons could break with the ride type. And while I haven’t done Rage, I haven’t been the biggest fan of Saw or Speed. Admittedly, though, I haven’t done one of the newer ones like Vindfald or Vertika.

Nonetheless, I guess it would be a nice compact “first inversion” type coaster that would fit Paultons’ demographic and general style well! And I guess it also wouldn’t be out of character with their typical approach of “buy more conservative rides and theme them really well” either, which seems to be working well for them thus far.

Oh no, I feel so bad for Paultons having that leaked by the mirror! I didn’t read the article but by the sounds of it, it did sound very Gerst.

I’m in the same boat as you @Matt N , I am a little bit disappointed as Euro fighters seem a bit dime a dozen to me nowadays, however I’m going to hold off judgement until I know more.

Euro fighters and infinity coasters do lend themselves to really compact twisty layouts, and if Paultons aim is to highly theme even their thrill coaster, it would be a good option. It does also offer the step up in thrill that they are looking for, and the logical side of me can see it would be a perfect choice for Paultons. If it does turn out to be a Gerst, I’m really hoping for it to be an infinity, something akin to Mystic at Walibi Rhone Alpes. I’ve heard it rides beautifully and the layout is pretty unique too. While it wouldn’t have been my first choice, something like that would be a great star attraction at Paultons really.

Exciting to hear water coaster, or water ride of some sort is on the cards for 2027 too. It’s really great just to watch Paultons grow, and thrive!

I've said it multiple times. The park are investing in a whole new area, featuring removals, new rides, retheming, etc. And at approx £12m, they're not pumping a significant amount in a new coaster. Not the level to get a custom, very modern coaster at least. And if you look at ALL of their coasters, they are clones / stock models.

Anyone who was expecting anything beyond a stock model was setting themselves up for disappointment, bluntly put.

Now I think people are getting a bit to judgemental here. As much as all of you are now disappointed to hear it will be a Gerstlauer Eurofighter, I think this is a right decision for the park in my opinion and it makes sense too that cobra will get refurbished by Gerstlauer as they can work together for new attractions.

And I think the Mancey's are a bit wounded up by the Mirror Right now as for the leak (which is good for us but not for them)
For the Eurofighter (Drakon), I hope it's the ones with lapbars and I would certainly think that the trains would be nicely themed.
Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if Leisure Expert Group are involved with the project again as they nailed it with Tornado Springs & Ghostly Manor.

Coffee Stain Studios used the same background music for one of their Satisfactory 1.0 trailers - a teaser for the Mercer Sphere. I approve of this ride & Paultons so much more.
