Alton Towers | The Smiler | Gerstlauer Infinity

Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown Gerstlauer World's 1st You can see someones made up rendering of the idea a few pages back. There is a rumour that this will have 14 inversions, only 8 or 9 of which can be seen on the outside track. That would mean anything up to 6 inversions would need to...

Alton Towers | The Smiler | Gerstlauer Infinity

Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st How does the ride length compare with the time it takes to get round the track and the apparent speed mentioned? Is there anything else comparable to give us an idea of how long the train might be in the secret section?

€250m for Walt Disney Studios, Paris

Re: Walt Disney Studios Park, Paris | Land Expansion Went to HS in Orlando a few months back and it is definitely an odd park. The side over by LMA is dead in the evening even though there are a couple of attractions open. The other side is absolutely rammed though. They need something over the...

    Your 'Park Count'

13 parks, 20 Coasters excluding kiddie coasters and some of which no longer exist. I am quite far behind here!!

Alton Towers | The Smiler | Gerstlauer Infinity

Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st I would have thought the ride was the expensive mainly because of the land alterations required. Can't just build it like most other parks, have to set up a mini quarry.

Alton Towers | The Smiler | Gerstlauer Infinity

Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st Furie.... ah yes. Only one of those out there but would mean not worlds first. I think if they are going to do the shop thing then it should go right through the middle of the shop, not just above or underneath. Obviously it would be in...

Alton Towers | The Smiler | Gerstlauer Infinity

Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st Given me a good idea for a worlds first! Train comes out of station. Stops out of view of queue. Coaster train locks in place like at the top of oblivion. Track itself rotates 90 degrees in to vertical. Train releases in to a vertical...

    New rides @ small parks

Saw them testing a new ride called 'The Time Machine' at Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea. You could probably find a few pics if you search for it. There are too many rides all the same there but this is a little different. Puke factor looks quite high!!

Alton Towers | The Smiler | Gerstlauer Infinity

Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st I am guessing the 'world beating' or 'worlds first' is something that is going to happen inside again, a bit like thirteen. There doesnt seem to be much room inside for the train to move up a level as the plans show (near Canopy B)...

Alton Towers | The Smiler | Gerstlauer Infinity

Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st I am planning on getting to the Towers in summer 2013. Hoping this is going to be as crazy as it looks. I am always happy to spend my day on Nemesis (with a quick visit to a few other rides) but would like to have something that could...

Rides you have a soft spot for.

Always had a soft spot for Nemesis at Alton Towers. First big ride I ever went on and still one of the best. Also like the Vampire at Chessington World of Adventures. Not exactly a white knuckle ride but it is quite fun steaming through the street above peoples heads. Only been on it once, but...
