Lord of the Rings is one of those enduring things. Facebook thinks I really like it, which is strange, as I'm completely indifferent to it, really! There's definitely a big following, though - it could end up being a bit of good luck if Universal can't use Harry Potter and has to use LotR...
It really looks like they've nailed it with this one. No spikes, switch tracks or backwards sections; just a long, well-landscaped coaster. Definitely seems to have elevated Gerstlauer as probably the top choice for this type of ride. It's exactly what so many parks need.
I think you're right, actually. I think it's a double-bluff! It does look like a real coaster, especially as it seems to dip down to ground level (towards "Shrek"). It definitely goes to the side and doesn't stay up on the roof.
Yep, could be a combined Dreamworks/Illumination land. The...
Personally, I'd be more in favour of a re-profile, but it'd have to be a bold one. In my opinion, it's a fundamentally violent ride, however much you re-track it. The layout is great. However, I do believe it needs the "hard landings" taken out. The coaster, as I'd change it, would probably...
Yeah, definitely.
Paddington - the first two are brilliant films.
Back to the Future - one of the best films ever.
Jurassic World - the films vary, but the theme is timeless.
Shrek - very popular in the UK, what with Mike Myers' Scottish accent. And I'd be amazed if his human form wasn't based...
So, the "four lands + 500-room hotel" rumour from February was true...
...
Back to the Future - Good choice for the sci-fi land. One of the best films ever made, although the coaster looks more extreme than the theme, if you know what I mean? Great choice - I'd rather it didn't have the...
This is one of those debates where both sides are right. Parks aren’t charities, true, and you can’t make people like what they don’t like. There’s no point in a thrillseeker going to a park without thrill rides.
And yet I still think the campaign has value, for three reasons:
Firstly, a...
I'll say Paultons, just because you can have so many rides. You could probably have 100 if you want. They have so many more rides than they seem to need, which is the complete opposite of the corporate parks.
Yeah, I think you're right, actually. Cobra is such a small ride, it's more likely that a flume is going under it than a coaster. We'll see though... I guess all will be revealed next month.
It could still be a theme park yet, though. Let's be honest, the only important thing is Megafobia. I'm not being pedantic, but I probably wouldn't classify it as an "asset" at the moment, as it's not easy to sell or move (let's hope they agree!) It'd definitely be a failure if the Welsh...
This is a little bit late, but Dreamland, Margate is getting a log flume for 2025. Apparently it's the one that closed in 2016. I can't actually find a record for that one, though... I know they had a Reverchon flume that closed in 2003, but I'm not sure who made the more recent one.
Could the footers under Cobra be for a single rail coaster? I've not seen one in real life, so am not sure how big they are. If the ride going there is a coaster, it would make sense that it'd be something quite snaking and agile.
Lots of twists and turns, probably some floaty moments, if not outright airtime... Something like this would be an excellent replacement for Cannonball Express. Not literally on the same spot, but it looks like it'd occupy exactly the same thrill level, but also be an upgrade.
