Chocolate World is disappointing. At least how it is now.

[old man][fist shaking]
I remember growing up (I lived about 45 min from Hershey) we used to visit chocolate factory all the time before I was big enough/interested in the rides. It was a fantastic little dark ride thing with all the scenes and everything. Recently (I think it was 4-5 years ago), they did a major renovation of that whole building and then put in a bunch of crappy animatronic things and songs and all that. It's gone from a really interesting story about they really make chocolate, to a song and dance type thing that tells you to buy Hershey products. It's just a lot less interesting now, and authentic, I guess.
Back before I was born, you could still tour the actual factory... before the health laws and stuff put a stop to that. My mom remembers going on that for school trips and the like. But anyway, I'll stop complaining about chocolate world.

Did they give you Reese's after the shooting dark ride in the park? They used to the season it opened, but then stopped that for money issues I'd assume. It always made that ride worthwhile...

Anyway, nice review, pictures, etc. Cool to see some other people's takes from these places, including what I'd still call my home park.

Reeses?? :p

[Yeah... knew that didn't look right, but I was too lazy to check. I need sleep. -CP6]

No! I thought they still did, so I forced Luke and Batman to ride it with me since I have an unhealthy love of anything nut related (pun sort of intended) and anything free, but, alas, no chocolate. It's obviously a coaster though, so that made it worthwhile.

And Mike, you missed out. But, I was sad I didn't see more of Snoo/UC that day, but, we got split up in the ERT as you know, and, it just didn't work out.

And I can't tell you what's so funny about that photo. It's a secret. Still makes me laugh when I see it though :p.

And I still thought the Chocolate World was amazing. But, by this point I was hyped up on Twizzlers and orange... ness so anything was awesome. The free stuff they gave us after that was foul though. Good bin effort though...

Lol.
That Austrian bloke in the green shorts was just plain damn weird.
He couldn't speak any English, which didn't really help, and his facial features seemed to be really out of place. :?
Also, he wore the same shorts EVERYDAY, and some of the worst shirts ever!
I mean, even I have a better fashion-sense than him. (and that's saying something!) :p

Also, this has been bugging me for a little while now- Goliath, who are you? :?

Well, this may now hold the record for biggest gap in a PTR... ever...
So, after such a long gap, I bring you the biggest, baddest and most awesome update this thread will ever see... DORNEY PARK.

We stayed over the road from the park, so just walked over to ERT on VooDoo and Steel Farce.

VooDoo, I really enjoyed. It wasn’t “amazing”, but, a lot of fun. We rode it once, near the front. Thrilling, and fun.

This is people getting on. You’ll have to imagine the rest of the coaster for yourself.

And we had ERT on Steel Force, but, I only rode it once at the front because it was... um... not good. It had some hints of what might one day have been airtime, but, it just failed to actually do anything.
100_4830.jpg

It looks good and IS better than PMBO, so that says something I guess (that’s a lie, it says nothing, but...)
I <3 the sign though. And the queue was quite cute.
100_4831.jpg

Uh, that’s it. After this we rode Laser, which was awesome, the Wild Mouse (and queued for AGES for the privilege of it), ran to the bus to Great Adventure, and went there. Rode Superman (crap), GASM (crap), Medusa (awesome), Skull Mountain (eh), Runaway Mine Train (crap), El Toro (great) and Nitro (best ride in the park), and returned.

We then watched a great show whilst eating a Subway which was crap for reasons I don’t recall. We then rode the woodie (Thunderhawk?), which was quite cool. Quite nippy, and then BAM, hit the trim, and it was over.
Then we rode the kiddie coasters, very exciting. Then the Log Flume, which was AWESOME and had the cooled drop ever, literally following the gradient of the hill it’s built on and running parallel to the drop. It also had a really cool little section at the top near Hydra.

ERT on Hydra and Talon followed. Hydra was rough and disappointing, Talon was amazing.

I’ll update this again later tonight with Knoebels and a super-exclusive Flying Turns tour!

LOL Wow, the final part of this PTR was quick.

And well, Steel Force HAS TO be better than PMBO since PMBO does absolutely NOTHING :p

And you already knew beforehand that Hydra would probably suck since it's a floorless and most floorlesses have little forces.

Looking forward to that backstage tour on Flying Turns - The Neverending Construction

^I know, they're quite fantastic, right? I had a tough time deciding which ones to post, but, in the end just posted them all.

^Lol, thanks guys xD

OK, Knoebels time! The day started off nice and early with ERT on Twister. It was only running one train, and it stayed that way all day, but, it was still fine. The ride was quite fun, but nothing more than that. Quite fast and twisty, my favourite part was probably the mad bad RCT lift hill <3

100_4835-1.jpg

It goes fast, and twisty.

We then shopped, rode the weird World’s-smallest-Frisbee (which was awesome, size really doesn’t matter with these). A while later, it was time for the highlight – FLYING TURNS TOUR
100_4836-1.jpg

Yay, there’s Flying Turns.

Here you can see from inside it

The skyride was really cool, but, was so totally RCT. This park is awesome, btw.
100_4873-1.jpg

We left at some point to do a tour of the GCI factory, which is just down the road. No photos though. Not allowed. You’ll just have to take my word for it – it was awesome.

Back to the Skyride then...

It gives you a really good view of the park, and a really good idea of just how in the middle of NOWHERE this place is.

An overview of Twister
100_4885-2.jpg

Haha, that’s it :p

Um, what else? Phoenix is beyond awesome. Seriously, the most perfect airtime coaster out there. With those bars, and that strength – it’s bliss. It ate my glasses during night ERT though, so, it annoyed me for that reason!

The Haunted Mansion was AWESOME too.

The Flyers are insane. Do them if you’re ever at the park.

As was the scary round hamster ride... thing.

Yep. I’ll take more photos on West Coast, promise.

LOL! The furies refused to ride the Looper when we were there last week & we found the Haunted House to be a bit too cheesy. I wish he could have experienced the real Phoenix like you got to. Flying Turns just looks so delicious. I hope they get it up & running this season.

^Phil missed out with Looper then! It was insanity!

And the Haunted House was just insane as well. Loved it!

I've done stuff like looper, and they're okay. If it hadn't been chucking it down and we'd had wristbands, I'd have done it :)

Haunted House was alright, but just a bit silly. I like cheese and silly, so it's okay, but I'm not in any rush back there. It was no Brean! :p

Phoenix was rubbish, maybe the wheels were jammed up with someone's glasses? ;)
