Hey guys,

I was just scrolling through all things theme park related on wiki, when i saw this on a page about the black hole at alton towers ....

"In the TH13TEEN evening last year, it was confirmed that we can expect something to be built in the area in 2012. It hasn't been confirmed what it will be."

Is this true or is it another Wiki lie?

^There's the new 4D thing.

It's not going in the Black Hole tent, but people seem to think it's going to be just around the corner in the other tent in the kiddy area: that one that used to have an ice skating show in it. I suppose that would count as "in the area".
 
I asked a member of staff about what was in the black hole tent, and they said it was for storage,so, like Gavin said, I doubt anything will happen to that tent!
 
^I'm sure the tent, or at least the space it's in, will get used eventually. Not next year though.
 
-The new ride for 2012 is being built in Forbidden Valley.
-The Ice Age show is going in the Cloud Cuckoo Land Theatre.
-The old Ice tent is being used for storage
-The Black Hole tent has just housed two scare attractions although they do have a few ideas of what to do with it. Although don't expect anything for another few years at least.

Hope that clears things up a bit. :)
 
They didn't confirm anything in the TH13TEEN evening, they just said there is a possibility of the family thrill ride in 2012 being in the Black Hole tent, it's obviously not now, though.
 
Well, from speaking to an extremely reliable source at the Towers, I was told that they originally had plans for a year-round Scare based Attraction inside that tent. They also once had an idea to possibly add a Dungeons into the "Towers" itself, but due to how close Warwick is (I know it's actually not close, I'm just being a messenger), they didn't want to piss them off. The other reason was that they already have a Sea-Life Centre and didn't want to add another "franchised attraction".

To be totally honest, they could add something pretty fantastic into that tent, not necessarily a Coaster, or a large ride, but something that's pretty unique. Due to the size of the building, they could even add a type of 4D ride similar to Spiderman/Transformers. Just an idea, or a wish rather ;)

Due to the size of the building? That tent has about the same rough floor space as a stamp, there's no WAY they'd fit one of those bad-boys in there in a million years.

Yeah, from a quick look on Google, Spiderman's building is around 100m x 50m, at least. The Black Hole tent (presuming that's the tent you're on about), is 50m long at a push and barely 30m across. You could get a 4D Spiderman style ride in there, but it'd be ****.
 
It's still possible, yeah, it's a small building, but you could add a good Sci-Fi themed dark ride. As I said, a 4D type ride "SIMILAR", I never said, the same as? ;)
 
"Similar" as in it'd leave the station, do one turn, and then return to the station because it's already taken up the entire building.

Oooohhh, I can't wait for that <3
