What defines a quality coaster?

Mega Poster
Thinking about SFMM vs. Cedar Point and how they both have held onto old stupid rides and built gimmicky things that I wouldn't even call coasters. So I was going to ask which park has the most quality coasters, but then I didn't realize that there was a definition of quality coasters anywhere. Which led me to the thought- What defines a quality coaster? Nobody has ever written it up anywhere.
I never really thought about it before.

Why hasn't it been 'written' up? Because the variation of opinion between each person is why...

For example, what rides at CP and MM would you not call coasters? I would guess that a lot of people will and do...

One person's quality is another person's borefest...

lol

- Smooth restraints (lap bars, over-the-shoulder restraints y'name it)

Something like from a page of Millennium Force, Wild Thing (Wild Waves), Space Mountain 2 etc...
