In 2011, the Walibi Parks introduced their 'Music Battle'. Every Walibi Park would recieve a brand new park style: The Music Battle. A battle between two bands that will dominate the complete park. It also included a giant make-over for each park, themed after the two rival bands. With the introduction of the W.A.B. at the one side and the dark-rock band The SkunX and the re-theming of the former Walibi Folies kiddie area in 2011, Walibi Belgium is the first Walibi park to get a complete re-branded themed land. For 2013, the French and Italian zone will become the first W.A.B. Zone. One of the four other re-theme projects that are planned for the following 3 years.
The re-theming of the French and Italian zone will include drastic changes for rides such as Le Grand Carrousel, the Auto Stop old-timer ride, the French Can Can Wave Swinger, the Cilindri Rotanti Breakdance and the Tuf Tuf Club Bumper Cars (Insomnia during Halloween). For now, the giant rides in the zone such as Loup-Garou and Vampire will not be included in the project. They will get their make-over in the near future. Another change for this season will be the kiddie-zone in the Italian zone, which will become a zone dedicated to The SkunX.
Up next in this plan is Lucky Luke City, the western part of the park, that will become the official SkunX zone and will include Calamity Mine, Dalton Terror and The Screamer top spin. Within two years, the Carribean zone and Industria zone with Turbine will change into 'The Fabulous Area'. Turbine, which is to open in June, is the first stage of the transformation from Industria to Fabulous Area. The last zone that is up to change is the Ali Baba Land. This zone will not be included into the Music Battle concept, but will be re-themed as the Exotic Zone. This final zone includes Cobra, the Radja River rapids and the Palais du Génie mad house.
