Van Helsing's Factory - Gerstlauer for Movie Park

Last month Movie Park in Germany announced their new indoor "Vampire" themed coaster to open this summer as "Van Helsing's Factory" & now photos of the on-site construction & factory coaster work have been posted, but first some info I have put together from various sources:

- Opening June 2011
- Location: old Gremlins Invasion ride building & surrounding movie theaters
- Gerstlauer Bobsled Coaster
- 9 trains with 4 person capacity
- 2 chainlift hills
- Ride time approx. 1:50 min
- Throughput 960 pph.
- Cost: 5 million Euros.
- Size: 3000 square meters
- Fast sections with approx. 3-4G elements & slow sections to tell the story.
- At the top of the 2nd lift a 3 meter high dome is being built that will be used as a projection screen.
- The pre-show will tell how Van Helsing is trying to "escape" from something.
- Indoor queue line.
- The coaster will offer both an on-ride photo & an on-ride infrared video camera for a "Blairwitch Project" effect DVD souvenir.
- The ride is being advertised as a non-family ride with parental warning for children under 12 years of age.
- The first track delivery is expected in April/May.
- Exterior facade completion scheduled for 1 April.
- One old movie theater building is being used for the souvenir shop, another for a warehouse, 2 for the pre-show room & the rest for the indoor queue line.
- The old Gremlins ride station was demolished as the new one will be built a few of meters higher.
- The 1st lift hill will be at the old Gremlins ride exit & the coaster will run in the opposite direction as the old one.
- The Gremlins building has been standing empty for 6 years

By comparing it to MM, I meant good theming on a Gerstlauer. Of course.. do they even have lap bars on any of their machines?

Wow. This os going to have to go up fast to meet that opening date, especially if the track isn't expected to show up until April or MAY?

Interesting to see how many sections are assembled at one time in the factory, though.

Another Steampunk style ride. I HAVE to go and ride it. It looks pretty interesting. Not added to the fact that I absolutely adore Van Helsing. This looks pretty promising.

If I get the chance to go back then I might for this. Will have to see how it turns out, but at the moment it looks promising.

Yeah, all the other Bobsleds have lap bars...

I like these kind of rides, so this can happen, but WHY Van Helsing? Firstly the film came out a billion years ago and secondly it was AWFUL.

And from what I've heard the park is gash anyway, why add more crap?

I knew they wanted to build a coaster inside the building of the Gremlins Invasion Dark Ride.
Now i know what its gonna be. I had no imagination of what to build in there. In case i forgot the Bobsled Coaster of Gerstlauer.
Hopefully theming and effects will be well as -lofty- mentioned before.
Perhaps I will make a trip there this year, as it is only 20 km away from my home.

I like these kind of rides, so this can happen, but WHY Van Helsing? Firstly the film came out a billion years ago...

And the story's 114 years old, it's no less relevant, thus this is no worse than Chessington's vampire, except that being in Germany, the theming probably won't begin and end with the station.
I'll be honest, I'm not going to go back to Movie Park for this, because it WAS dire; as a ride it looks inoffensive enough, but they'll need something a LOT bigger than this to compete with the GOOD places Germany has to offer.

That layout does... Nothing, the only thing that will probably save this is good theming...
