I thought there was a topic for this new ride type from ABC Rides, but after a quick look around, I can't find it. I guess I may have just seen it on Facebook or something.

Anyway, this is the ride:

Screamscape are reporting that it's due to have its opening in Hong Kong, "on December 31st, 2015 at a festival-event held in the OLD Hong Kong Airport location."

I think the location could be wrong though. There's an annual fun fair here called The Great European Carnival, which runs for a few months over the winter, but is located right on the Central harbour front. I can't see there being a second, 3-month long festival event running at the same time a few miles down the road, so I think it makes sense that it's going there.

I skipped it last year since it was pretty pricey and there was only a Big Apple in terms of coasters and nothing in terms of flat rides that I hadn't done before, but I'll make an effort to try this out if it is actually coming.

I can't be the only one that thinks as a ride experience it'll be **** and just feel awkward?!

^ I agree with you. I think it's very impressive from off-ride due to the size and scale of it, but I can't see it being a particularly good ride. Definitely a case of style over substance I think, and seems like an overly-complicated way to do things.

We'll see though I guess.

I think the important thing to remember is that I'll get to try it out before any of y'all basic bitches.

To me it looks rather... boring? Most flats where the ride motion is completely controlled tend to be pretty... meh. It also looks like a jumbo version of the Orbatron (uh, 'SPACE RINGS' from RCT) only not free spinning. - this thing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqnkSS1l-kc I'd still ride it, but it seems to be one of those 'looks fun, rides lame' kinda ride.. And it looks... slow-ish.

So I was wrong. It turns out that there actually is a second carnival running at the old airport site at the same time as the usual one on the harbourfront.

This one will have the Toubillon ride as well as the tallest transportable drop tower and, so far, not much else.

Yeah, going to wait until after the Christmas holidays though. I've got half days at work in January, so it should be quieter.
