Almost a year since my last top 25, so I thought I'd give my latest list!

0 Coaster
Some may notice that this is the first year I've added a 0 coaster into my top 25. Whilst Stealth isn't the best coaster I've ridden, it is my favourite. No coaster has consistently put a smile on my face like Stealth has. It's the coaster that buried my teenage fear of coasters for good and that hydraulic launch still hits just as hard as it did in 2006. Deciding a location for it in my top 25 is too hard, but it definitely deserves to be honoured in this list.

New Notable Creds
Since my last top 25 update, I've ridden 70 new coasters. Of those, only 3 made this list, but some big ones missed out.

Wildcats Revenge - 3rd Place 🟢
Expectations were drastically exceeded with this coaster, and it is the best mid-sized RMC I've ridden. It's a buffet of everything RMC is great at, with big floaty elements in the first half, to rapid-fire inversions and ejector hills at the end. The result leads to what is one of the best coasters in the world.

Batman: Gotham City Escape - 22nd Place 🟢
Whilst not the best of the new big Intamin's in Europe, there are still some great moments in this ride, most notably the section between the second and third launches. This sequence of odd inversions, speedy transitions and one mental airtime hill justify its place in the list. I also love the smaller trains and how they allow for the tightness of the elements and really give it the sensation of darting around the area.

Fønix - 23rd Place 🟢
I really struggled to decide whether I preferred this or GCE. Fønix is the first of the new-gen Vekoma's that actually made me excited for one of their rides. It doesn't have the (sea)-sickly feeling of their other sit-downs, like Abysuss or Lech. I think this is due to a slightly different profiling of some elements and more of a focus on airtime as opposed to "swoopy" turns. A very very solid coaster.

Iron Gwazi - Missed out 🔴
The most disappointing cred of the last 12 months. I do wonder whether my hype for this coaster was too high before riding and maybe that led to the lack-lustre experience that followed, but I found myself forcing myself to embrace the elements. Places on the ride where I expected airtime didn't really deliver, and no matter how roomy my restraint was or where I was on the train, there was none of the same thigh-bruising joy that I usually experience on other RMCs. I had multiple rides over two separate visits, including night rides at 1am, but sadly it still failed to deliver. I appreciate I'm in the minority here, but I just don't think it's the RMC for me.

Nitro - Missed out 🔴
Despite not being in my top 25, it's still a great coaster. I love the setting and the ominously slow lift hill, but it slightly lacks the finesse of the newer B&M hypercoasters.

Jersey Devil - Missed out 🔴
Great pacing, great elements—I just hated the restraints. If it were the same layout on an iBox, it would comfortably be in the top 25.

El Toro - Missed out 🔴
Easily one of my highest bucket list coasters, given its reputation; sadly it feels like El Toro's glory days are firmly behind it. The drop and two airtime hills on the initial run out are still fantastic, but the remainder of the layout (yes, including the rolling thunder hill) was rough and didn't deliver as I hoped. I do think it has the ability to enter my top 25 if RMC did a 208 retrack on it, but my real preference would be to see it turned into an RMC hypercoaster monster... one can dream.

Movement
There was not much movement overall in my list, with some losing spaces as new coasters were added, and I had solid rerides on existing creds. The big loser was Velocicoaster. My first rides on Velocicoaster were before riding the likes of Pantheon, Toutatis & Kondaa. Going back on VC after those rides made me realise that it sits on the tamer end of the big new Intamin's. Whilst still a great ride, it didn't have the same wow factor I remember the first time around.

Also, moving up from being previously "unplaced," Black Mamba secured its place as my favourite invert after I rode it again a couple of weeks ago. I love how enclosed it feels in those trenches and it made me miss how angry B&M used to be.

Waving goodbye to
Dropping out of my top 25 is Expedition GeForce, OzIris, Silver Star and Griffon. All great rides and maybe they'll earn their place in the list again some day, but I have a feeling as my cred count goes up, they'll grow further and further from shore.

So that's my current top 25. I've already got flights booked to some bucket list parks for later this year, so I think by next April, it could look dramatically different! Thanks for indulging me!

Fury (now #26): Barely lost the chance to enter my top 25, let down by its rattle and ending a little too soon.
Big One (now #27): The best first drop in the world, but the rest doesn't hit hard enough any more, but still super easy to make your own fun on it.
Big Thunder Mountain (now #28): The mine train that got me into mine trains, I'll never forget my rides on this thing.

Japan had a trio of pretty incredible coasters, with Flying Dinosaur being absolutely gorgeous at night, Hakugei being everything I love about RMC in its absolute best form, and Eejanaika being immensely intense and being able to see Fujisan from coasters felt surreal. Nothing else in Japan really came close to that top 3.

I’m envious of your rides on those Japanese coasters. When you going to come on over to the States? We have a decent coaster or two, I promise.

Going to splurge some thoughts from the last couple of years here...

Got on Pantheon last year and was a touch disappointed. It felt a bit tame by Intamin standards and I couldn't really work out why. The swing launch was fun but the airtime wasn't particularly powerful. Verbolten is the real gem of that park.

Intimidator 305 completely surpassed all expectations. I'm not a fan of the Intamin shoulder restraints but everything else about the ride made up for it. Whored the back row but a front row ride was particularly euphoric. Twisted Timbers though was a bit dull, which was a suprise given my love of the small-mid scale RMC's. The layout felt a bit basic.

On the same trip I got back on my beloved Skyrush, and after an initial ride I was worried I'd overhyped it back in 2019. After several more back row rides throughout the evening though it really delivered and left me questioning if it may actually be my number 1 coaster. In the end I chose logic over recency bias - obviously Steel Vengeance is the best coaster I've ever ridden. Shout-out to Wildcats Revenge which is well worthy of the hype. I would probably have it ranked higher but didn't ride it enough due to the existence of Skyrush.

I also visited Parque Warner, shortly after the opening of Gotham City Escape. This went straight into my top 3. It reminds me of a modern take on Maverick, relentless throughout, with every element delivering. The top hat gives amazing airtime all over the train, and the following hill is possibly the best airtime moment in Europe.

A few weeks back I went to Walibi Belgium and Parc Asterix. Kondaa I found very similar to Pantheon. It's a fun ride with good airtime, but it lacked that typical 'power' you feel on an elite Intamin.

Toutatis though... Wow. I did not expect it to be that good and never thought it would beat Gotham City Escape. I feel it's a tad underhyped, maybe due to the top hat not doing much. The pre launch section is done really well, and the reverse airtime on the launch is absolutely brutal. The launch section alone makes it a top 3 coaster for me; it's just bonkers. Loved the rest of the layout too.

I've ridden Taron nearly every year since it opened, and it's getting harder to justify it's place in the top 10 nowadays. It felt a bit sluggish on my recent Wintertraum rides. But it's Taron. I've had some crazy rides on it over the years and ... It's Taron. It's not going anywhere.

Hoping to finally get on Velolicoaster in the next year or so. Got my eye on Taiga too which could potentially crack the top 10.

Presuming that 15 was supposed to be Hyperion and not Hyperia?

Looks like I haven't posted here since my Belgium trip, so a couple of minor updates:

1) Velocicoaster
2) Iron Gwazi
3) Ride to Happiness
4) Hyperion
5) Helix
6) Untamed
7) Fury 325
8) Expedition Ge Force
9) El Toro
10) Taron
11) Troy
12) Shambhala
13) Cú Chulainn
14) Flying Aces
15) Nemesis
16) Twisted Colossus
17) Wodan
18) Colossos
19) Lech
20) Kondaa

Hoping to have at least 3 additions this year if all goes well (Hyperia, Wildfire, Zadra 🤞), assuming they live up to expectations!

For me, my top 10 is:
1. Maverick, Cedar Point - My current favorite, I've grown to appreciate the powerful launch, and I adore the rip-your-head-off-if-you're-not-careful felling, amplified with the bulky overhead restraints. Despite that, still the best ride I've been on.
2. Full Throttle, Six Flags Magic Mountain - When I first went, I grew to appreciate this one-of-a-kind ride: the powerful launches, the huge loop, the mind-bending backward launch (my first, by the way), and the gigantic top hat.
3. Wonder Woman Flight Of Courage, Six Flags Magic Mountain - Despite the funky restraints, the intensity and the whip of the inversions, mixed with the inline seating, made this one hell of a ride for me. It was my favorite coaster until Full Throttle and Maverick overtook it.
4. Steel Vengeance, Cedar Point - A bit of hate might come from this, but it's still an insane ride; the intense airtime and the whippy inversions were intense. But I'm not a big fan of it, as much as Maverick.
5. Millennium Force, Cedar Point - A truly amazing ride, an intense sense of s p e e d, the airtime and forces it pulled off were almost too much for me to handle, but it was very enjoyable.
6. X2, Six Flags Magic Mountain - A very whiplash-filled ride in the back row was all I needed for this to shoot into my top 10. Incredible ride, highly recommend it.
7. Leviathan, Canada's Wonderland - The only coaster at my home park to make it in the top 10, an intense yet graceful giga coaster, and a great ride to come to Wonderland for. I'm riding this again and again each visit.
8. Incredicoaster, Disney California Adventure - A very long and forceful ride, perfect for children looking for their first inversion. The initial launch was intense, and I mean it. It felt faster than it actually was, and for good reason. It was enough to let it shoot into the 8th spot.
9. Raptor, Cedar Point - One incredible inverted coaster, Raptor shot into my top 10 the moment I rode it. It was my first B&M invert, a huge step up from the Vekoma SLC, Flight Deck, at my home park of Canada's Wonderland. I shudder thinking about it.
10. GateKeeper, Cedar Point - An incredible wing coaster, my first, and the same for my dad. He loved it, I love it too. It's graceful but intense. The keyholes on the main gate had me laughing and ducking my head as if I were to hit my head if I wasn't careful. A great ride all around!

If you couldn't tell by now, I've only been to a few theme parks: Canada's Wonderland, Cedar Point, Nickelodeon Universe Minnesota, Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and Six Flags Magic Mountain. Despite this relatively low amount of credits, I still had a great time riding all these.

So that's 4 new additions, all of which are Intamin. All hail king Intamin.

Nine different manufacturers, with the top two being Intamin (15) and B&M (7).

Nothing close to the mythical Top 10 this year yet though.

So I wanted to update my top 10 after riding Voltron.

1. Voltron
2 . Steel Vengeance
3. Taron
4. Hyperion
5. Maverick

6. Shambhala
7. Zadra
8. Abyssus
9. Wodan.
10. Furius Baco

I knew I would like it but didn’t know it would rank better than Steel Vengeance for me. I think the length and the airtime really sells the deal for me with Voltron. Never-Mind the hang time and overall intensity.

Updated Top 15 List after a recent trip to Energylandia :

1. Zadra - Don't know why, but I never expected this coaster to top Iron Gwazi for me, but here we are. There's so many similarities this coaster has to Iron Gwazi, but what sets it higher is a few things; better pacing, more sustained airtime moments, still with plenty of ejector, slightly better theming, and that gorgeous zero-g stall....what an inversion! This coaster (as most other RMCs do) got more and more unhinged as the day went on but I still managed to find this one more comfortable to ride through all of it's different elements compared to Gwazi's (looking at you death roll!).

2. Iron Gwazi

3. Taron

4. Velocicoaster

5. Hyperion - An absolutely perfect coaster here. Some of the strongest floater airtime I've ever experienced and the low-to-ground second half of the layout was so fun and snappy! Never had any issues with any rattles either (tried many rows and outer seats ). The only thing that sets that coaster back compared to other two Intamin coasters above is theming and the fact that I do still slightly prefer their multi-launch/blitz models.

6. Mako

7. F.L.Y

8. Untamed

9. Shambhala

10. Incredible Hulk

11. Red Force

12. Black Mamba

13. Abyssus - Honestly, Vekoma are killing it nowadays. I love how they've went from building some of the roughest coasters out there to now creating the smoothest coasters ever (yes, even smoother than B&M!). The launches on this coaster were surprisingly punchy, perhaps because I was expecting them to be more like the old Mack launches. The layout on this coaster is super long, filled with some great pops of airtime and plenty of forceful turns. The restraints also weren't an issue at all to be honest, you barely even notice that the vest restraint is there.

14. Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

15. Cosmic Rewind

Hyperia is fantastic and definitely knocks on the door of the Top 10, but doesn't quite make it. It's been 7 years since I've been to Liseberg and I do wonder if Helix and Balder may change rank on a future visit.

Nemesis drops down the rank, but that's not because it's "worse". Nemesis is still an intense beast. It's smooth, fast-paced and looks fab. But the high-G-force style of ride it is is less my cup of tea these days. And simply put, given the choice, I would much rather ride all those above Nemesis before it.

My top 25 after a recent trip to Thorpe Park to ride Hyperia

The sentimentality is real - plus, there's coasters I've not ridden in over a decade but I remember being mindblowing.
Ranking is never going to be easy again. SO many solid 8/10s ridden over the last week.
I'll be riding a couple more Macks in the next few weeks, so I'll be disappointed if this list doesn't change.
It was fantastic to finally get on some good wood coasters - especially as the afternoon at GAdv was a last minute thing.
I still bleed B&M if you cut me.

So, from Italy where I live I'm finally done hitting every park in Europe I really wanted to visit (Energylandia, Phantasialand, PortAventura, Europa Park and Parc Asterix) and after hitting 74 coasters ridden it's time for me to sit back and have my TOP

Revolution Bobbejaanland (now #26): see how highly I rank indoor coasters when something actually happens inside the building?
Saw - The Ride (now #27): excellent ride with big variety in forces, but unfortunately as I grow older I tolerate the Gerstlauer shoulder restraints less and less
Big One (now #28): I see myself moving this up on some eventual future ride. It's hilarious.
