Copy and paste jobbie...

Using new technology, TurtleTrek gets guests closer than ever before to the lives of one of the worlds’ best loved and most vulnerable reptiles – the sea turtle.

This visual conservation experience allows guests to learn more about the plight of the sea turtle and the incredible life journey they take from hatching on a beach and making the mad dash to open waters, to the dangers and hazards they face as they mature and return to the very same beach to lay their own eggs, their tales of life underwater have in the past been impossible to show – until now.

Coming to life in front of the guests is a first-of-its-kind 3-D and 360-degree dome theatre that is completely immersive. Guests will experience a 360º view of the film, from above and all around, where they will be given a turtle’s eye view of the ocean’s wonders.

Back in the real world, visitors can get up-close to the sea turtle at two extensive habitats next to the dome, one saltwater area which will also house more than 1,500 fish and over a dozen sea turtles, and the other a freshwater habitat where guests can discover hundreds of freshwater fish and gentle manatees.

Many of the manatees and sea turtles were rescued by the park’s animal team. Since SeaWorld Orlando’s rescue programs began, the team has cared for and returned to the wild nearly 240 manatees and more than 1,200 sea turtles.

Opening at Discovery Cove in spring 2012 is Freshwater Oasis, an all-new attraction featuring swimming and wading adventures and face-to-face encounters with playful otters and curious marmosets.

Designed with a rainforest canopy above and sparkling clear springs below, Freshwater Oasis is a natural fit within Discovery Cove’s tropical vibe.

All of the family can experience this tropical setting, with most of the water at waist height and various levels of exploration where they can wade, swim and float in the water-filled trails and discover marmosets and Asian otters.

For a spot of après-animal exploration guests can soak up the Orlando sunshine in the warm waters in the In-Water Relaxation Station, a secluded pool including comfy in-water chairs.

Freshwater Oasis is included with admission to Discovery Cove, an all-inclusive tropical getaway where guests can swim with dolphins, hand-feed tropical birds in a free-flight aviary, snorkel among thousands of colourful fish and rays and relax on pristine white sandy beaches.

Never has there been a theme park so cold – until now. Spring 2013 sees the launch of SeaWorld Orlando’s most incredible attraction, Antarctica - Empire of the Penguin.

Explore the frozen wildernesses of the Antarctica through the eyes of the world’s most loved bird - the penguin.

Antarctica - Empire of the Penguin will take guests on a journey like no other to the coldest and most barren place on earth with a state-of-the-art interactive ride combined with an animal attraction.

More details to follow.... for now it’s on ice.

I hope that this was also Copy & Pasted and you're not actually THAT cheesy Ian...

I'm actually looking forward to all of this, I mean, any new additions for Florida in 2012 will make me a very happy boy!

This is the right direction for the park as many of the buildings looked old and from the 70's so I am glad to see they are working their way round the park sorting them out.

I said I would not go back to the park until they got more rides as for me the park had changed little in the past 10 years but this type of thing would make me go back as it will look better etc.

Sorry for being a grammar Nazi, but I thought I should fix the article by inserting the correct punctuation:

Many of the manatees and sea turtles were "rescued" by the park’s animal team.

What is this 'state-of-the-art interactive ride'?
A family roller coaster? A dark ride? Flat ride?

Either way, Im happy to see them expanding!

Don't see this stopping the park from being rubbish. :P
Only good thing there is Manta and maybe Kraken.

I'd love to see one of them "repay" the trainers with their thanks like Shamu did <3

See, I'm a bit of an aquarium goon as well as a coaster goon, so I really love Sea World and have always had a nice day there. But I know you're not alone in your opinion, the park gets a fair bit of flack in the coaster community, although I've never seen any reason for it from my 10 visits over the past 20 years, I've always been impressed and satisfied with what the park has to offer and the way they offer it.

I've been following this penguin thing for a while now and I believe the attraction is going to be some kind of elaborate dark ride. As the exhibit is at the moment, there are moving walkways alongside large glass windows, taking you right by the pengiun enclosures and allowing a 'dissected' view of their simulated environment (so we can see their behaviour above and below water). I think the ride will incorporate this same kind of moving past a window system, but in a grander scheme of things. At the moment I'm thinking Living Seas at EPCOT, but obviously better because the technology has improved etc etc.

Quite good that they're finally touching all this up really, the park does have this weird, outdated vibe in many areas. I never thought it looked grotty or anything but it's definitely outdated now in terms of style and technology, will be good to see them brought into the 21st century!

^ Yeah Discovery Cove is a completely different park to Sea World.

an all-inclusive tropical getaway where guests can swim with dolphins, hand-feed tropical birds in a free-flight aviary, snorkel among thousands of colourful fish and rays and relax on pristine white sandy beaches.

Its one of the best places I have ever visited.

The Turtle and Penguin attractions are new for SeaWorld and the freshwater oasis is new for Discovery Cove.

The new additions sounds good, nice to see Discovery Cove get something new aswell.

Yes, whilst Discovery Cove is a different, "park". It's owned by Sea World (well, Busch) and is just across a road from SeaWorld itself!

It was part of the c&p jobbie. And I am that cheesy, I would have added it anyway.

If you want rides go to an amusement park. Because SeaWorld, as it's name suggests, is a zoo.

I love SeaWorld, best park in Orlando thati'vebeento easily. But, I love zoos. And theme parks. So, I'd rather go to a good example of both in one place.

I remember going to Sea World before any rides were there, it's not changed a bit and that's what my problem was with it last time. The park looked old dated and run down which is why I am glad it's getting this work done.

For 1st visitors they probably would not notice the lack of work etc which is probably why you felt that way Joey. December was my 4th visit and by far the worst.

In December I was not happy with the Dolphin section and the stupid charge they put in place which meant we both had to buy a pot of food to stay together or Mark would have needed to wait to other side of the gate.

As I said the changes are 100% positive and will bring much needed change to dated enclosures.

I understand. In fact, thinking about it I can understand why people say it seems a bit outdated. It does have a very 90s feel to it to me, because some parts of it reminded me of Chessington's atmosphere when I used to go as a kid. Especially that bland area outside the penguin bit, seemed very Chessington by the sealions-esque. I quite liked it. It felt really quite magically nostalgic despite never having been there before, but I guess that quickly wares off if you've been a few times.

Still. Kraken + aquarium = heaven. The end.

All they need to do is get a whale shark exhibit and some cuttlefish, and bam. I'll officially be their #1 fan.

(No **** hashkey on a mac erhgdfghhdhjj!!!!)

I like animals and zoos as well though. All I'd heard about the shows and exhibits in Seaworld was how it was world class and best in the world.
The Sealion show was just a normal boring show but the actors had Sealions walking behind them. The Killer whale show was just 20 minutes of the whales swimming backwards and forwards splashing people in the front row because the trainers aren't allowed in the water anymore and the Dolphin show is the same as every other one.
As for the animal things they had a couple of cool bits with the artic thing but it all felt a bit bland dated.
Also they still charge you for extra stuff in the park. We wanted to go on the Observation Tower but you have to pay extra for it which is stupid.

Just found the park boring. There was no atmosphere and it felt empty. It's hard to explain but there's not much to do there at all.

^Which is how I felt on my last 2 visits.

The 1st time was fantastic the park had a real buzz about it. Since the take over the staff do not look as happy and the shows have been cut back for sure.

There are now so many chargable things that used to be included with the park ticket.

Shame really but maybe they can put things right again. They need to as so many people I know have said they would give the park a miss next time.
