Yesterday I went for my very first visit to Thorpe Park. After a six hour journey which involved megabus, train, walking and buses we finally arrived at 9:30. Got in at 10 and then had to wait over 10 minutes to get searched However the park was very quiet all day and got on everything.

Good Points
- Quiet day so got on everything
-Slammer was such a good ride - one of the best flat rides I've ever been on.
-Saw Alive was really good - very enthusiastic writers
Bad Points
-Nemesis Inferno only running one train despite having a queue of 45 minutes at one point
-Shocking amount of break downs. Saw: The Ride, Rush, Detonator, Stealth, Samurai. Saw closed from 2 till close and Detonator was only open for the last two hours if that.
-The loading/dispatching times were slow. Samurai was particularly slow. They didn't start filling the pre-ride batching area until the previous riders had finished and exited the ride. Most other rides were also slow at loading/dispatching.
Overall
I really enjoyed the park. It has some really good rides. None of the roller coasters stood out - Stealth and Saw were really good but Nemesis Inferno and Colossus were ok. I think the flat rides are the best things that the parks have to offer and it's the reasons I would go back to the park, which i definatley will. The breakdowns and poor loading/dispatching of rides were annoying, but it was ok as the park was quiet and nothing was closed for the whole day. However had it been a busier day it would've been frustrating. But I did enjoy the day and I will certaintly be back soon. I also can't help but compare the park to Alton Towers, and despite really enjoying the park I think Alton Towers is miles better. I just think the theming is better in Alton, plus there's less breakdowns and the dispatching is much better. I've been to Alton Towers in March and September on school days and Nemesis, Air and Rita have always been running two trains. But I don't want to be negative so I'll end by saying that Thorpe Park is a really great park with a great selection of rides and I hope to go back soon.
