The Sum of All Thrills ride opens at Epcot's Innoventions

Not really major news but it's pretty cool. It's basically a robo-arm simulator but with an enclosed top half that has a screen. There's also a design process beforehand where you can design your ride and how fast and intense it is. Looks like I'd be fun to ride. :)

EWWWWW

No more Robo Arms should EVER be built.

At least it's stuck somewhere as awful as Epcot.

What is it that you have against Epcot?

I think it looks like something fun, but not sure it would be worth the awful queue times that it will inevitably get.

Surely this must be a pay-per-play?! If not, the queues will be absolutely collossal.

I've actually ridden one of these. It is WAY cooler to watch than actually ride. You kind of get off thinking.. "did i really do all those crazy moves that I was watching someone else do earlier...?". I rode with a POV of Skywheel at Skyline Park on my screen. Since you obviously don't see your real surroundings, you really don't know you're being flung around and you step off onto the same platform you got on at like nothing's happened!

Still I like the educational slant. I just pray that if IOA use this on Potter, they ditch the screen and go for real life effects.

Lots more information <HERE> but I can't find out whether this is pay per ride. Even the Epcot website has no mention of it.

Was that intentional? I don't want to think about it!

I would build a ride that is half B&M Sit Down, half B&M Hyper, and half ( :? ) Intamin Hyper. With a launch somewhere in there.

I think it would be cool if the queues aren't horrific and if it actually feels like you're doing something.

I did a similar one at DLP about 2 years back where Stitch Live is now located. But it wasn't a roboarm...you designed the ride in the same way but it was based on Space Mountain and then you got into a red cylindrical machine with a wide screen opposite your seat and you rotated a full 360 in all directions so you could loop and vere round corners etc. on your designed coaster. Your ride was rated at 1 calm to 5 intense...we maxed ours out to 5 everytime and it was fantastic! Would love for it to still exist.

The one you are on about is a ball type thing. I remember it. There is also another one at Disney Florida, as 2 CF members have been on it:

Another robo arm? They're cool and all, but not really that great. Rode the one at Legoland California, and it was like, "What, that was it?" on the most "intense" setting.

Now if they put it on a track...
