What's new

Taylors Funfair, Morecambe

Jake

Strata Poster
Another HUGE PTR, this one from last weekend when Richie was hanging out in Drugby with me.

Taylor's was only posted on RCDB this year, and seeing as I don't have nearly enough Big Apples under my belt, I dragged richie 3 hours up north to ride one :).

This park was paticularly dire, with a limited selection of dated, ghetto rides and equally pike staff.

Ah well, thats life!

LOL, never thought I'd see the day that gypsy Taylor's got a mention on CF.

But finally the day has arrived, and Jake I'm glad you like my hometown :P

LOL, well, I didn't see much of the town (only Taylor's and KFC).

The POLO observation tower looked cool, but was closed? What's up with that?

Big Apples FTW!

I was up a couple of weeks ago getting my credit whore shoes on.

Wish someone would do something with the Frontierland site though, it's still very derelict!

The remains of it are for sale.
So, it's up for grabs really! I wish Taylors parked their arse over there and bunged in a few decent travelling rides (well they hire half of their rides out).

For sale sign on the right of the Polo Tower.

Didn't some supermarket not purchase the site that the tower is on or was that the former Frontierland site.

Funny, I never knew that the tower was actually an observation one. I thought it was just some giant aerial type structure with Polo stickers up the side.

If they ever get more coasters in Morecambe I'd love to visit and also check out the Midland Hotel because I love those old art deco buildings.

Thats the former Frontierland site lol. Morrisons obtained it back in 1999, however they did absolutely **** all with it.

At the back end of the site there is now a JJB Gym, Homebase and Next store. The rest is totally derelict.
The log flume stood standing till late 2008, when it got demolished.

This is basically how it looks as of June 2009 (phone pictures):
