From the BBC 'One person needed hospital treatment and 10 others were treated at the scene after a fairground ride collapsed at a park in Cambridgeshire'.

I don't know what the ride type is as I can't make it out from the photo, but it's described as spinning and going vertical.

They think someone has broken an ankle.

It's a 'roundup' type ride. They're lucky nobody was injured more than what they were!

My uncle lives and owns a sweet shop in St. Neots. he said he knew the bloke who was taken to hospital

Blimey! Just managed to deduce that the ride's name is X - Scream, and is indeed a roundup or mexican hat ride. Not surprising?

In fact, it's a scary coincidence....this was at my local fun-fair just last month...I reckon it's featured on this specific circuit for a time exceeding 3 years, and I recollect riding this exact ride several years ago. Can't say it was any good though.

If that had occured a little earlier, then someone I knew would've been a victim.

I don't suppose this will operate again, which is a shame since it was by far the best ride at the fair.perhaps they might replace it with something superlative though.
