Skytrak Total - Granada Studios

Mega Poster
I have been doing a little reading and came across this very old and unique coaster, https://www.facebook.com/pages/Skytrak- ... 44?fref=ts.

I remember going their once whilst i were younger and being to small to ride it. (They also had a really cool dark ride based around aliens if anyone remembers)?

Did anyone get a chance to ride it? Apparently it was the very first flying coaster created. I also read that it had an accident, if anyone remembers this ride or has any information please can you tell me.

Thanks
Dan

I did the Aliens encounter thing, that was fun, but sadly never rode the the Skytrack. Kept thinking "I'll go this year" - and then it shut.

I went to Granada Studios a couple of times in the early 90s and really enjoyed it, but it was a few years before Sky Trak opened. Well, kind of opened.

It was plagued with problems from the outset, had a ridiculously small throughput and then the park closed about a year later.

The newest thing there the last time I went was a 4D theatre thing. Thinking about it, the screen might or might not have been 3D (thinking about it, there was a separate 3D show), but it had individual moving seats.

It was pretty cool for the time, and the whole tour was actually pretty decent.

Same here actually, I thought it was okay, but it wasn't a "full day" kind of thing. I havephotos from about 1990 or 1991 I think - around that time, just before I went to uni.

It frustrates me to think of the exclusive creds I could have got if I hadn't been fannying around with a **** girlfriend at the time. **** relationships

I think it was the same one that ended up in American Adventure. It opened there at the same time Granada Group bought American Adventure - I think they shifted it from one site to the other. It was ****, I have photos somewhere of Ben on it looking like a grinning moron, I'm sure he'd love me to dig those out :)

I don't think it was 3D (but perhaps it was by the end). The one piece of film I remember was a truck going around a sandstone quarry and the seats rattling along with it.
