So today my sister and I had decided to go to Six Flags Over Texas so we could at least get our passes processed, and hopefully NOT have a Spring Break type incident.
SO anyway, we left our house around 3:30 and after the usual 30 minute drive, we arrived at Six Flags, greeted by the sight of a long line for Judge Roy Scream, which usually means the park is much worse. But we started off on a good foot, when we discovered people leaving and we got a real good parking space near the front of the park. Afterwords, we went in and went straight to process our passes, hoping that it wouldn't have a 2 hour line like over SB, but anywho, there was no one in line, and we got our passes processed in about 5 minutes (we both purchased Play Passes, but since we put the Season Parking on my Play Pass, they upgraded it to a Season Pass free of charge) and not wanting to see the horror of a line for Titan, we decided to try and hit up a thrill ride, and went to Acme Rockin' Rocket. Although it had a long line, there was an immediate need for two people after waiting only two minutes and we got on (another string of good luck). How was it? My sister and I had a totally chalant conversation discussing what the Texas state flower and bird is. But nevertheless we enjoyed it and after we got off, we decided to go to Gotham to at least hit up the best ride in the park, Mr. Freeze.
We got a little excited because it seemed to not have a long line, but when we walked in we discovered the line was at the 90 minute mark. However, after another string of luck, the line moved pretty fast and we only ended up waiting about 45 minutes. Still the best ride in the park IMO. Since we were in Gotham, we decided to go right across the walkway to Batman. The line was at the 60 minute mark, but once again, a string of good luck occurred, and we only ended up waiting for 20 minutes before getting on. It's still a good ride, but not one of the best.
After Batman, we decided to check out the (horrific) Flashback, because we didn't feel like walking anywhere far. However since it can only run one train, had a long line, and is just a crappy ride in general, we skipped it and, being the bored idiots we are, decided to go to Texas Chute Out, a parachute type ride. 20 stories, still a piece of ****.
Now I've been considering Superman: Tower of Power (which I hadn't rode before because I'm deathly terrified of heights) for awhile now, and since it didn't have the long line it usually does (today was only 20 minutes) we decided to get on. As we got closer and closer I started to get nervous but I finally got on. It was a good ride, and the only part that really freaked me out was the freefall drop, and being 300 ft. high for barely 5 seconds still scares me. I was so scared my knuckles turned white from holding the restraint so hard. And I also learned that S&S but their initials on the restraints.
After Superman we decided to tr and walk toward Titan to see its line. We were growing increasingly hungry and decided that if it didn't have a long line, we'd leave. So as we arrived at Titan, I was pleased to see that they have added more beams to Texas Giant's lift hill and almost finished the turn out of the station, and were steadily working up the lift hill. So we decided to take a peek at Titan, but we were so hungry, even though it didn't have that long of a line (30 minutes) we decided to skip it and head out.
Overall, it was a real good day for a Saturday, and we ended up going to BWW for dinner and it was delish (I had a Bacon Cheddar Burger, fries and 8 of the 24 wings) and then went home.
Ride Count:
Acme Rockin' Rocket: x1
Mr. Freeze: x1
Batman: x1
Texas Chute Out: x1
Superman: ToP: x1
