SFNE Bizarro flame effect

Screamscape said:
(10/2/10) Many have written in to say how Bizarro seems to have lost it’s flame thrower effect late in the season, and even the hardware has been removed. The official Six Flags twitter has not only confirmed that they are gone for good, but seems to indicate that they will be sent to another park to be installed for a new project. If I had to guess, I’d say Texas Giant. I’m photoshopped together the twitter bits for you to see below as well as some links above. My only concern here, is that the last posting about being moved was many days later and the link for the conversation, while to the same user, is no longer valid, as the message was removed, so while we can confirm the flames from Bizarro are gone, the bit about going to another park may have been taken out of context.

I think it was a pretty bad move to take out the flamethrower unless it was for purposes of electric or gas bills. it was such a sick effect. thanks for the info snoo!

With any luck, they'll take out all the other theming (ok, cheap cardboard s**t), remove the speakers and leave us with an amazing coaster again.

Bizarro SFNE

The speakers are awesome Gavin!

Once, I rode Bizarro early in the morning right when the park opened and they didn't turn on the speaker so I was greatly dissapointed.

The speaker is amazing on the lift hill and builds tension before the huge drop. At the top of the lift hill, right before, the drop, it says, "Didn't your dad ever teach you to...look....before....you.....leap!!!!!!!!!!!!!" then you suddenly plunge into mist.

I am dissapointed that the flames are gone. Bizarro is 2 times the ride Superman was becuase of the transformation, theming, and multi-sensory and audio effects.

^That soundtrack is just awful. It's a load of noise that adds absolutely nothing to the ride experience at all.

Plus, if you're slightly on the tall side (I'm 6'1, so not exactly freakishly tall) the speakers actually get in the way if you put your arms up and make the ride really uncomfortable.

An excellent coaster practically ruined quite frankly.

I couldn't agree more Gavin.
Plus there's those awful cardboard cutout buildings & that horrible Bizzaro billboard covering the first tunnel entrance. I used to love the view of all those hills after the first drop turnaround & the tunnel used to look like a tiny dot from the top of lift hill, which made it feel even taller than it is.
Ruined a perfectly fabulous coaster in so many ways. :(

The only thing they really needed to update was the restraints as the previous ones were pathetic.. but it is Six Flags remember.. need that gimmick.

Flames and speakers don't make a great roller coaster.
