I received a strange package in the mail today and opened it to find this:

On the back of the mini-poster is a map to Terminus!

It looks like the success of the company's Justice League dark shooters has already paid off with an even bigger IP attraction and a much more interesting one IMO. It doesn't mention that it's going to be a shooter but since it's an interactive "Battle for Survival" I'm sure it will be and although companies like Triotech could have done a good job with this, I'm really glad that it's Sally who got the deal. Next week we find out more info and where the attraction(s) will be located.

Re: Sally Corp. to announce Walking Dead dark ride at IAAPA

Quite dark for a family-friendly theme park I would have thought?

Cartoon baddies (Justice League) and undersea monsters (Iron Reef) are one thing, shooting humanoid-zombies... well thats another level!

Maybe an installation at a more niche-location / pay-per-ride sort of place?

(Don't get me wrong, I'd like it, but I'm not really mass-target market am I?)

Yeah, but the new Sally rides react to you shooting things, Duel you are lucky if a LED switches off.

Ohhh that's interesting.

I know Universal do a Walking Dead Halloween attraction but AMC are totally standalone aren't they, so we'll have no real idea who they've got in to bed with.

I'm wondering with the dark content if it'll be a midway attraction rather than a park. Vegas? Who the **** knows.

That is really interesting, and brings up a good point, where the hell is that going to go? Really interested to see!!

I hope the finger you received was the 'middle one' - that's my attitude to The Walking Dead in it's entirety.

It's such a **** stupid sell-out to do this, Universal do it every single year with their HHN attractions, I hope it's going somewhere that will truly benefit from using a licensed product and not just another huge park where it will run alongside several other large dark rides.

If a single company can produce something of substance with their animatronics and animation, it's certainly Sally Corp., so it's sort of interesting to see how this turns out - or whether they're going to go down the adult experience or 'family friendly dark ride' route.

Sounds like a fun add - glad to see a zombie/horror genre adopted into an amusement park beyond a one-off haunted house.

Re: Sally Corp. to announce Walking Dead dark ride at IAAPA

Sounds interesting.

I'm putting my money on a movie/IP-based park to get this. Maybe MW Germany?

Re: Sally Corp. to announce Walking Dead dark ride at IAAPA

I just love the PR pack - brilliant stuff

While Duel is notoriously cheesy and flashy lighted - the bad zombie models they use are probably as unsuitable for a 4-7 year old old as this attraction will be for say 7-teen. I think as long as it's marketed correctly, it will do pretty well in a lot of parks. No difference between an "unsuitable for under 10's and those with a heart condition" on this as a "must be XX tall to ride and not have a heart condition".

I think it's good that there's an "adult" market for dark rides appearing - I don't see it as any different to an adult coaster market.

Any chance I could have that finger?

Having just familiarised myself with Walking Dead, this could be quite special.

Re: Sally Corp. to announce Walking Dead dark ride at IAAPA

Jerry, give Ian the finger!
